2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe word "desperate" gets thrown around a lot by Bernistas. Odd.
Far be it from me to speculate, but it seems that desperation is a term most fitting for the candidate behind in polls, betting markets, endorsements, fundraising, and everything else. You know, the one who's latest stunt to woo AA voters is campaigning with a guy who uses terms line "N-erized" and "blackface" to describe president Obama.

(11,417 posts)and to us you are the nasty ones. I got to that site by being alert stalked two times. That's how we all got there by being given a DU vacation by Bernie supporters. That's how you got invited to post there. So some of your side did that so I would blame them.
delrem
(9,688 posts)for doing things like calling Bernie's supporters, his crowds, scary white ass white supremacist racists? Did you then cry that you were a picked on martyr when your posts got hidden? For THAT?
Because I applaud juries that hide those kind of hate filled despicable posts. I generally vote to "leave" and only vote to hide when it's extreme, MIRT level stuff. "Free speech" and all, and to work for progress in the political sphere requires head to head debate and thick skin. But I think those kind of hate filled despicable posts are or should be MIRT level and I shudder at how those posters are going to resume their act when they finish serving their well-deserved time-outs -- because apparently they not only haven't learned a thing, at their off-site haven of like minded people they are treated like heros and martyrs, and there's no comprehension shown whatsoever that the tactic of branding Bernie Sanders and supporters as racists is disgusting Rovian crap of the worst kind.

I am expecting as things go further south for her things are going to get incredibly vicious.

This is the epitome of desperate, which is, by definition, the "feeling, showing, or involving a hopeless sense that a situation is so bad as to be impossible to deal with."
This post does seem as if your are hopeless, and impossible to deal with in light of the fact that you are using desperate attempts to bring down a democratic opponent of the person you want to vote for.
Sick, sad, and by all means, pathetic.

(2,328 posts)Hillary's campaign positioned her as the presumptive nominee. Or they at least let the MSM frame it that way.
Bernie is seen as the unelectable underdog.
Bernie can speak truth to power and is seen to be for the people. He can attack the system and he's seen as punching up (Fighting the power, so to speak). Yes he is technically part of that system, but at the same time has always been dismissed as 'fringe'. But he connects with people who have also felt marginalized by that system.
Hillary is widely seen as part of that system, and so cannot directly attack Bernie because she would be seen as punching down. So her campaign tried being dismissive of him. When that didn't work, they try to say he's ineffectual or unliked by his peers. They are trying to find a way to fight him without alienating his fervent supporters.
They still haven't quite figured it out, and her polling numbers are spooking her donors. Hence the image that her campaign is getting desperate.

Warren Stupidity
(48,181 posts)grasswire
(50,130 posts)....that said "threat" was simply a notice that bravenak would be banned from a political message board if she continued her political speech?
Did you tell him/her that?
Fumesucker
(45,851 posts)I've had posters let me know they have found my identity, both here on DU and on Discussionist when I was posting there for a while, it was a fairly creepy feeling. That kind of gave me a personal connection with what happened to bravenak.
Of course subsequent events have shown that there are some rather subterranean agendas on DU these days.
grasswire
(50,130 posts)....but there are legal definitions of "threat" and being warned of being banned from a political message board is never going to meet the standard.
Fumesucker
(45,851 posts)The bravenak letter was no big deal and the entire incident was a tempest in a teapot, no laws were broken.
