It's like something happened that he was not prepared for -- he TOLD THE TRUTH about that which must not be spoken in the GOP world, it looks like the GOP mafia has had some words with him about it and he's trying to walk it back.

One consolation for Newt as he goes down like a flaming marshmallow: He will not be forgotten in this campaign, in fact he's sure to be featured in a lot of highly effective campaign ads (for the President.)
