on electing a president who will "get things done"

I have seen many posts from Clinton supporters that say they want her as president because she'll negotiate with the republicans in congress, and thus "get things done". This is in contrast to Sanders, who will give them nothing. Some Clinton supporters say that it will be good to have a president who will "meet them half way". Bearing in mind that Hillary is already in favor of profit based health care, tpp, offshore drilling, h1b expansions, fracking, poverty level minimum wage, and more aggressive foreign policy, here is my question in two parts.

1. What exactly is half way between Clinton and the borderline insane McCarthy?
2. Do you really want that?

2. But I know I don't want to find out.

2. For example, Hillary has a very aggressive clean energy plan, and it's unlikely that all of it

will get through congress. But, if part of it gets passed what will be a great improvement, and build on Obama's environmental accomplishments.

She's also committed to protecting and expanding Obamacare, moving us toward a Swiss or Dutch style system of universal health coverage. Whereas Bernie is likely to push uncompromisingly for single payer, which will get nowhere.

And so on. Republican opposition in congress isn't going to go away, magic unicorns notwithstanding. What matters is, first of all, actually winning the white house, and then doing whatever possible to make progress in spite of unrelenting obstruction.

7. I don't want to expand obamacare. The first incarnation almost bankrupted me

and still might. All of the insurance companies are raking in record profits (tens of billions) and asking for huge increases for next year. Meanwhile millions still don't have insurance, and other millions can't afford to use theirs. It's an abomination that needs to be scrapped.

Hillary is still in favor of the oil companies, and that isn't going to change. Why am I told that I have to vote for all of the things mentioned in the op?

9. The abomination you speak of is saving my neice's life.

Her life and millions like her.

I won't accept a model in which we let her and others like her die now because we can't save everyone all at once.

12. Medicare for all would also save her life. And wouldn't involve paying billions in

overhead/extortion money to murderous insurance executives.

13. Explain how President Sanders will pass Single Payer...

...or is just standing on principle enough?

15. Easy, Expand Medicare to cover all Americans

if they want the 20% coverage, Americans can get them from the "insurance" companies that may or may not cover it.

Probably can bypass Congress and issue an EO to cover all Americans with Medicare at the expense of the Defense Department who has a blackhole of a budget that is 95% unnecessary. Health care is an national security question.

14. And Jesus could come back and heal everyone.

There is no way in hell this country jumps directly to Medicare for all. And so if the choice is some progress or none, I'll take some progress.

The aca has helped millions. And if some of you had your way, we would not even have that right now.

Sorry, I'm not scraping the ACA.

What's Bernie going to do when he can't get Medicare for all? "Nothing" is not an acceptable answer.

3. Bernie will take to the bully pulpit

and republicans will immediately renounce capitalism. All of his proposals will pass Congress by big margins.

19. Sanders negotiated with the Republican Congress last year

to get a major Veterans bill passed. First he negotiated with McCain until McCain supported it, and then he negotiated with the Republican controlled House until they did the same.

Also, for the 1995-2007 Republican House, Sanders was the "amendment king", he had more passed amendments than any other member of the House.

20. It's the things that might get done that are worrisome.

More money to the rich, less to the rest of us, and probably more war all around. Pass.
