Related: About this forumBernie Sanders Makes Political History With Over a Million Contributions
Of course this is uncharted territory for any candidate since its never been done before, No campaign has reached this level of individual contributions this early in a campaign. This should send a powerful message to those that wish to just hand the Presidency to Clinton. The message is that the people of America might have something to say about that. #EnoughIsEnough

Bernie is on a mission, and he HAS to succeed. He knows this. We know this.

(41,131 posts)TPTB will make certain no left or progressive candidate will get into the primaries again I think. The people are also receiving needed hope and uplifting now like any living thing. Bernie, his message and success are extraordinary and are raising the morale of fed up people throughout the country. And that's undesirable to the status quo; Time is critical.

(19,326 posts)Just curious, is the one-million-mark highest in the "at this point in the primary campaign" sense, or
over-all, for the complete primary campaign cycle. In other words, was the record set in 2008, one
that counted the entire primary cycle, or how many donors there were on Sept. 30, 2008?
Fawke Em
(11,366 posts)No one has had over a million contributors this early in the campaign.
In other words, he's got more ceilings to shatter.

(24,695 posts)because I and many others have sent a strong message to anyone that thinks they can "BUY THIS" election, no matter what or who you are voting for --------------it's not going to happen this time----------------------I strongly feel that everyone or there political entity has been put on notice this creed is more powerful ---------------and it's called democracy for and by the INDIVIDUAL
Hey, MSM do you now get it..........................?
Its not about polls--------------it's about ISSUES
And how about some debates-----------------now------------------I and many others are really tired of hearing what this right wing condescending machine is doing to this country by spreading more hate and fear and what it is is doing-----------------really tired----------------

(975 posts)so for example i gave 4 times this month..that would be counted as 4 individual contributions
that is how i read it, correct me if i am wrong

(53,410 posts)But still, most of us have given small amounts so that's probably another record there.

(11,945 posts)An acquaintance who is on the HRC mailing list said a few days ago that suddenly they were begging for contributions of any amount from everyone. I wonder if it has anything to do with this record setting?

(496 posts)thats why they were begging for $1, as someone posted on another thread.

(11,945 posts)which is exactly the kind of president Hillary would be: secretive as hell, viewing the American people as either dupes or enemies. She reminds me more and more of Richard Nixon. She is essentially unsuited to the presidency; it is not her calling. Her forced grin, her orchestrated rallies, her think-tank produced policy positions, most of them responses to areas Bernie has already covered.
Hillary vs. Bernie is fake vs. real.

(13,297 posts)On Hillary's fundraising....
"The majority of that money came from dinners, receptions and other functions where the price of entry was often $2,700, the legal maximum.
They included large soirees in the Hamptons and Washington, gatherings at the New York homes of fashion designers Kenneth Cole and Tory Burch and West Coast money jaunts involving tech moguls. All told, there were about 60 of these events, which netted at least $19 million, according to an Associated Press review of basic information about the events provided by the Clinton campaign."
_______
So Hillary raises nearly $20 million from a few well-placed moguls who can only vote once, whereas Bernie raises $20 million from a million people who can only vote once.... except that there are A MILLION OF THEM!!!!
* on Hillary fundraising
A super PAC helping Clinton has also ramped up its efforts. Aides said they've secured more than $25 million in commitments since July 1, money the group can deploy in advertising to help shape her image.

That is just slower destruction of everything. We need Bernie, to stop the destruction of this country and the middle class.
