San Antonio Express-News: Wendy Davis backs a presidential candidate

Former state Sen. Wendy Davis is continuing a bigger step back into the public arena with a public endorsement Wednesday of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

She called Clinton “an inspiration to me” in campaign email last year, and she boosted her in a “ready for Hillary” email after losing her own race, before Clinton announced for the White House.

Davis, who told the Express-News soon after her loss that she planned to stay involved and likely would be a candidate again for some office.

She since has weighed in on issues including women’s health, given talks and said she is planning a national initiative related to gender equality. She recently gave an interview to Rolling Stone in which she reiterated her interest in running for office again.
