First on CNN: Biden expected to skip first Democratic debate

Washington (CNN)Vice President Joe Biden has extended his window for deciding whether to jump into the 2016 presidential campaign, several Democrats say, allowing the contest to play out even longer before he answers one of the biggest questions hanging over the race for the White House.

He is not preparing for the first Democratic debate on October 13 in Las Vegas and is not expected to participate, people close to him say, because he feels no pressure to reach a decision by then. He is likely to reveal his plans in the second half of October.

For more than two months, Biden has been studying the mechanics of what it would take to launch a candidacy. He and his team have been inundated by mounds of research and battle plans, but his original end-of-summer deadline passed without him reaching a conclusion.

Campaign managers in key early-voting states have already been identified. Dozens of major donors have stepped forward. Domestic and foreign policy advisers are waiting in the wings.

He will probably decide not to run, being he would start with $0.

I am a Bernie supporter, I don't see much difference between Biden and Clinton, and will not support either one.
But it looks to me like all Joe has to do is say yes, and the money will be there for him.

Dozens of donors is laughable. Dem candidates have already pulled in $115Million.

Hope you support whoever our Democratic nominee is in 2016.

And it looks to me like he would take a big bite out of Hillary's donors going forward. "Going forward" is the operative way to think about that. No endorsement is unchangeable.

I don't do the Pledge-y Thing, sorry. That would imply that I would be all okay with the smears, the war and fracking and TPP and cluster bombs. And I won't.

The political windfall from McCarthy's f-up regarding the Benghazi committee is going to boost her numbers for at least a few weeks. But I suspect that our Sander's Tortoise vs. Clinton's Hare will continue to bring a better leader to the White House in the long run. Biden simply isn't ready for primetime.

No friggin point in giving Biden anything if he is not running.

It's a pet peeve of mine when the DNC pushes this kind of crap. Hope karma comes back at them 300x when Bernie takes the national lead and increases it to a point where Clinton is at risk of losing her superdelegates.

Probably will stay high as long as he is probable. Once he declares -- stats may change. Donno. I do not think he hurts himself by waiting. Suspect the money thing is going on behind closed doors.

This gives Bernie a chance to go "head to head" against Clinton for the first time and have people be able to compare the two. It also gives O'Malley a chance to get his name out there, a chance he likely wouldn't have if Biden were on stage.
