2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhat is this about Obama suing Ohio on voting by the military?
FOX supposedly lied in a newscast that Obama sued to restrict voting by the military in Ohio, but the only one I can see that debunked it was MediaMatters.

This refers to restricting early voting to the Friday before the election. He wants to open it up for everybody, including the military.
Breitbart and his ilk are really pushing this crap.
Edited to change title.

(50,912 posts)to those running the election there shouldn't be any voting the Monday before the election for anyone.
There is no legitimate reason why military and their families should be given a special day to vote that others can't enjoy. If they want to vote and can't on election day then vote absentee. I'm sure that is an excuse available to all military in every state. What they should require in every state is early voting the last Saturday before the election.
It appears that voters in Ohio do not have to specify a reason to vote absentee.
They should also challenge the law that only allows military and overseas to request an absentee application by email. Everyone should be able to email their absentee request.

(717 posts)The guy sited Brietbart, and when I asked for a credible source, he gave me Townhall.
They got nothing.
He just came back and said this to me: "It sure is easy to understand how marxist obama was elected with brainwashed goosestepping entitlement-oriented airheads like you."
Again, they got nothing.

(16,254 posts)I had run a search and got all kinds of RW links. I needed a good link to post to Facebook friends to show it was a lie, not just my word.
I'll be SO glad when this election is over. It sure tests relationships. I try to refute what I can prove is false (even though I KNOW it is false) so people will pay more attention to what they are posting/believing, but that is a full-time job.

People on FB generally rely on Snopes to verify the BS posts and chain emails. I posted it preemptively for my friends, told them that before they're flooded with those posts and emails, there is the TRUTH about it. I think we all need to counter this egregious lie by Romney.
