Clinton, Sanders, O’Malley to attend Rock Hill presidential forum

ROCK HILL
At least three of the Democratic candidates for president – Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley – will attend a nationally televised forum Nov. 6 at Winthrop University, the state Democratic Party confirmed Wednesday.

“The First in the South Presidential Candidates Forum” at Winthrop Coliseum will be moderated by Rachel Maddow, host of “The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC, which will air the forum live.

All of the Democratic candidates for president were invited, party officials said, but only former Secretary of State Clinton, U.S. Sen. Sanders of Vermont, and former Maryland Gov. O’Malley are attending. If Vice President Joe Biden, who has been publicly toying with the idea of jumping into the race, announces his candidacy before the forum, the state party said, he also will get an invitation.

The “cohosts” for the forum are the S.C. Democratic Party, U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn, the Democratic National Committee’s Southern Regional Caucus 12 other state Democratic parties.

He just needs to get one good soundbite in there. I think there's a hunger among moderates for an alternative to the two leading candidates.

I like the things I read, but then I like most of what Clinton & Sanders say too. I pretty much pick who I support based on how effectively they sell the Democratic case. I still can't pick who to vote for, tho' Biden would be a no-brainer (no pun intended).

I hope he can step up his game without being managed by handlers.

He has a pretty good sense of humor and isn't afraid to label things BS. He's famous for staying around after everyone leaves answering questions and inviting more discussion. There are a lot of OM videos in our group here on DU. I encourage you to watch some. He's a hard working candidate with a prolific amount of plans. He also has the distinction among the Democratic candidates of already completing many of his ideas while governor.
