Bernie Sanders Touts His Republican Support

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said early Thursday he is winning over more GOP voters in his campaign for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.

There are more than a few Republicans for Bernie Sanders out there,” he told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

“Don’t be surprised if we do well with a number of Republicans,” the White House hopeful said.

Being able to pull voters from across the partisan divide on common sense, common ground issues could suggest a possible landslide for Bernie and this scares the poopy out of his opponents.

"Bernie Sanders Touts His Republican Support" isn't in the article.

The correct headline is "Sanders: ‘More than a few’ Republicans support me"

If I were to post commentary, I would post it in the body of my post, in full sentences.

I do that quite often. If you think my headline is commentary, that's fine by me. I really don't care.

Funny how such an extraneous thing can cause an issue.

Welcome to GDP.

Months of madness to go.

LMAO.

not dis. It may have changed but tout isn't prejorative always. I think it wasn't intended that way either.

Progressive ideas appeal to some Republicans who are tired of the bible thumping GOP poking heir noses into private stuff. A surprising number of Republicans hate insurance companies enough to favor single payer. And so on. Not all Republicans toe the party line on all the issues. Kind of like Democrats in that respect. I think Sanders would do better among independents and Republicans than Clinton would do. He just has a tough time in the primary process.

No Bernie, we're not surprised. You're treading a path trod by many GOP/Dem-lite independents including John Anderson, Ross Perot, Pat Buchanan and of course Ralph Nader, but for some reason the DNC hasn't figured out that letting third-party blow-ins sandbag the top candidate isn't such a good idea. But for the record, it isn't.
