(53,661 posts)He may have seen a recent version of the Ed Schultz show that refers to this video. I know I haven't seen it being used, as I don't watch teevee. But I did find videos where the ad was criticized on CNN, etc. as inaccurate, and they are recent.
In real world terms, though, the ad is completely true about the big picture. Just as true as the Andrea Saul statement about the ad, that if they had lived in MA under Romneycare, it wouldn't have happened. That is not the case in most of the USA, we've known for years, and as publicized by MM's SICKO, that people in this country have been dying this way for many years here.
Healthcare should not be based on employment, because it's a Catch-22. A person without a job or who has a job without benefits, can get sick and die and then not be able to work again and contribute. This man in the video not only lost his job, his insurance and his wife, he lost the person most likely to have been willing or able to care for him in his declining years. These costs are never discussed by those who see healthcare the same as buying auto insurance. The effects across the board are much worse.

(95,247 posts)He has done this to hundreds, thousands of people; pocketed their livelihoods and pensions, thrown them out of their homes, left them destitute and dying, and all so he could cram a few more dollars into his pockets. He has no regard whatever for human life where snatching a few more bucks for himself is concerned.

(1,277 posts)Drudge and the rest of the GOP slime machine are working overtime trying to raise questions about this ad, specifically attempting to link the gentlemen in it to the Obama campaign because -- get this -- he participated in an Obama campaign conference call months ago.
I happen to love the ad because as someone else said, it's accurate in the broad sense of what these cretins have done to people like this man and his family time and time again. The louder the GOP maniacs cry about it, the more obvious it is that it scares the holy hell out of them.
