More distortion from Romney campaign ...

The Romney campaign, which has apparently exhausted the selectively edited clip of President Obama saying “you didn’t build that,” has seized on a new soundbite to distort. The campaign sent an email blast Thursday afternoon featuring a video of an Obama rally in Colorado from earlier that day and falsely claimed that he wants the government to bail out every industry. “I Want To Do The Same Thing With Manufacturing Jobs … In Every Industry,” it read.

The distortion comes from Obama’s speech in Pueblo, Colorado, touting his administration’s successful revival of the auto industry, which came back from the brink of collapse to add thousands of jobs and is now poised for its strongest sales since 2007. Obama said he wanted to help other flagging industries experience the same kind of success. Conservatives, however, are using the clip to make it sound like Obama wants to bail out every industry.

Here is what the President actually said:

OBAMA: I said I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back and GM is number one again. So now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs not just in the auto industry, but in every industry. I don’t want those jobs taking root in places like China. I want them taking root in places like Pueblo.

What would be wrong with that. Imagine is you will, the Fed pouring a couple hundred million into the construction industry in the form of infrastructure project or manufacturing through production contracts? Imagine, further, if these contracts were combined with a training element ... Mr. Employer can't find someone with a desired skill; hire someone with potential and OJTthem in-house and support that with community college classroom training.

Unemployment would fall overnight!

they can't do anything forward-thinking, or talk about his positions.. they have to pore over everything that the President SAYS, and see how they can spin it. I mean no disrespect with this comment, but truly, the architects of Nazi propaganda would be flattered by the imitation.

Read it all here:

We’ve got a bunch of examples of the differences, the choice in this election.  When the American auto industry was on the brink of collapse, more than 1 million jobs at stake, Governor Romney said, let’s “let Detroit go bankrupt.”

AUDIENCE:  Booo --

THE PRESIDENT:  I said I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back and GM is number one again.  (Applause.)  So now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.  I don’t want those jobs taking root in places like China.  I want them taking root in places like Pueblo.  (Applause.)

Governor Romney brags about his private sector experience, but it was mostly investing in companies, some of which were called “pioneers” of outsourcing.  I don’t want to be a pioneer of outsourcing.  I want to insource.  I want to stop giving tax breaks to companies that are shipping jobs overseas; let’s give those tax breaks to companies that are investing here in the United States of America, making American products with American workers and selling them around the world.  That’s why I’m running for a second term.  (Applause.)

Here’s another difference.  At a moment when homegrown energy, renewable energy is creating new jobs in states like Colorado and Iowa, my opponent wants to end tax credits for wind energy producers.

AUDIENCE:  Booo --

THE PRESIDENT:  Think about what that would mean for a community like Pueblo.  The wind industry supports about 5,000 jobs across this state.  Without those tax credits, 37,000 American jobs, including potentially hundreds of jobs right here, would be at risk.  Colorado, it’s time to stop spending billions in taxpayer subsidies on an oil industry that’s already making a lot of profit -- (applause) -- and let’s keep investing in new energy sources that have never been more promising.  That’s the choice in this election.  That’s why I’m running for President.  (Applause.)

Nowhere does he say he wants to 'bail out' other industries. After the section in question he outlines exactly what he wants to do to boost manufacturing jobs.
