LAS VEGAS, Nev.After her triumph in Tuesday nights debate, Hillary Clinton was due for a victory lap. Did we have a good debate last night? she asked several hundred locals who had gathered for a Wednesday evening rally in an amphitheater here. The response was an approving cheer.
Commentators across the spectrum, liberal and conservative alike, have praised Clintons performance in the first Democratic primary debate, a marked contrast with the skepticism and hostility she previously faced from pundits and the media. And with good reason: The candidate who has been consistently on the defensive since launching her campaign in April was poised, prepared, personable, and energetic. Now, Clintons campaign hopes Tuesday will prove to be more than just one good night. If all goes well, they say, it could be the turning point that sets her on a smooth path to the Democratic nomination.

(18 posts)The only thing the debate proved is Hillary is a very polished performer and exceptionally entrenched in the pockets of big business.

Thank you for your input. If that is your assessment there is nothing I can do to disabuse you of that notion. In the spirit of comity I would be remiss in not giving you a big and a hope your journey is a propitious one.

(11,417 posts)Must be tiresome to have to make that shit up while people are feeling good about Hillary.
By my calculations, the effort you put into bashing Hillary will slow her campaign about as much as a piss ant on a railroad track will slow a freight train.

(8,616 posts)I think she really made a good point about tailoring capitalism to fit the American experience. I loved it when Chris Matthews said after the debate "I think the Republicans will want to run against the Denmark guy" He got it.

(3,859 posts)But she played dirty with her bogus NRA comments. She took the gloves off and the Establishment now views that as their latest opening to discredit Bernie. So I have taken my gloves off too. When she spuriously attacks the candidate with the integrity, she deserves any monkey poop I can throw at her.
I have no fear of Annie. This is a marathon, not a sprint. We will win because the truth is on our side and we have the energy to overcome her dark money and smear tactics. If she had not taken the low road, as is her wont in every campaign, I would still be referring to her as "Secretary Clinton." No more. Annie Oakley is fair game.

(28,270 posts)Some Bernie fans really went off the deep end after Hillary did so good at the debate.
Joe getting in is not going to save them now and they can read the scientific polls showing no movement for Bernie in the south, no movement in the democratic base, no movement in large diverse states.
And Hillary is widely considered the winner of the debate and supercharging her campaign.
So of course it must be a big conspiracy because....Internet polls.
Unfortunately this kind of weirdness is going to paint Bernie as a crackpot if they keep it up.

(14,195 posts)anywhere near the interest of Bernie. She had 2k in texas today when Bernie had 13k there.
Laugh on, history repeats. Hillary loses again because she is a freaking weathervane that moves wherever the polls do. She stands for nothing, except her belief that SHE should be president.
Bernie actually believes what he says. He is authentic.
