(6,498 posts)You mean that people might oppose and protest war?
It happens.
Some folks consider such protests a good thing, not a bad thing.
And it really doesn't have much to do with busses.

(5,169 posts)... President Obama as soon as he has to make a use of force decision.
They will rail against him with accusations or warmonger and baby killer when he is forced to commit American forces to violent acts against dangerous people.
I support Sen. Sanders because I believe he is a man of peace, but he is also a man of good sense. Alas, when elected, he will have to go through hell on Earth, with many who are his strongest supporters becoming his sharpest critics.

(5,169 posts)Anti-war sentiment and action is a good thing. It keeps us from getting into even more actions than we already do.
There are groups of people around the world who would cause mass harm if given the opportunity. Radical Islamists, Radical Christians, Radical Buddhists, American so called "patriots", Maoists, and just plain criminals are willing and able to commit violence against the innocent and the frail.
I for one hope for a world without war. I am a long way from a shoot em up bang bang cheerleader. It's an inhumane waste of resources. It absolutely should be avoided.
But not at ALL costs.

(5,169 posts)Which is not an issue since I am planning on voting for Sen. Sanders.
I do envy you. I wish I could be a pacifist. I was one as a young child. "Never fight back, it makes you a bigger person than them".
I got beat up a lot until 8th Grade. Successfully defended myself at the bus stop a couple times, and punched the kid in the school office who was bragging about cat torture, then I got through high school without a single fight.
I wish it wasn't like that, but it is.

(6,498 posts)I'd get kicked off of any death qualified jury for my pacifism as well.
Hell, I couldn't even get student grants and loans because of my pacifism, ever since the ongoing Pacifist Purges of Higher Educatuion started back in the 1980s, with the passage of the Solomon Amendment.
Not being elected President is the least of my wories as a pacifist.
