Bernie Sanders makes big splash on Real Time with Bill Maher

Sanders did a very good job in defining what he stands for. Bill Maher's point does however have some merit. Bernie Sanders and his supporters must engage in an information and educational crusade. They must plant within the psyche of Americans that the policies they yearn for is what Sanders is running on if he is to inoculate himself from the red scare the Republicans would ultimately unleash. Call it what you will.

There was a bit of that happening on the debate stage too.

Team Bernie needs to have slam-dunk answers, that explain in much more detail,
how Bernie's proposals will get paid for, and by whom.

Bernie so far to my knowledge hasn't yet said how far down the income % will have
their taxes raised, and by how much. It's a fair question, and one that won't go away
until a much more detailed and nuanced set of answers are provided by the Sanders
campaign.

This is a golden opportunity to EDUCATE THE PUBLIC on these issues, even if it means
"the top 5-6%" of income earners will pay more, and so what? That's still only 5-6%
of the voters. They need to spell it out, clearly so everyone understands what Bernie's
New-New Deal is going to look like, and who will be paying for it.

It's a safe bet that those who'll be paying more are those with that mythical creature referred to as "disposable income".
Though, having a quick and easy "The top 10%" or "Top 5 %" would make it a bit easier on messaging.

I'm much more interested in debunking the red-scare, and spreading the word about Bernie.

Best way I've found to do it so far is to tell them about all the things Bernie stands for without mentioning his name, and ask if it sounded like someone they'd be interested in supporting. I get a lot of people looking at me as if I just grew an antler out of my head, and then respond "Of course!". Then I tell them that the candidate is Bernie Sanders.

I've had some awesome responses. Lots of people with a sudden desire to look Bernie up. Even had one conservative who came to me, and start talking to me about how excited he was for Bernie... he actually knew a few things about Bernie I didn't.

It's been kind of exciting!
