Romney Camp: ‘We Disagree’ With Akin'

Mitt Romney's presidential campaign said late Sunday night that "Gov. Romney and Rep. Ryan disagree with Mr. Akin’s statement." Rep. Todd Akin's (R-MO) on Sunday claimed that women who are victims of "legitimate rape" have biology that prevents them from getting pregnant.

"A Romney-Ryan administration would not oppose abortion in instances of rape," the campaign said in a statement confirmed by TPM.

This is going to be fun to watch
McCaskill and the Democrats are going to tie Akin and Ryan together with a nice shiny bow.

I legitimately doubt that Romney and Ryan are telling the truth.

Romney may go along because he's a panderer.

Ryan will just work to redefine "rape" until it fits his total anti-abortion agenda.

They will both redefine rape if a woman gets pregnant from a rape it won't be rape while one that doesn't will be considered rape.

Don't they allow fundy assholes to refuse to provide emergency birth control.

The campaign said it, not even a particular spokesperson. It certainly didn't issue forth from either of their mouths.

In another two months, they will each claim they made no such statement.

Romney will do what he did with Limbaugh/Fluke & Donald Trump/birtherism - he'll say he disagrees, but won't condemn it.

'cause if a zygote is a "person" that aborting it would be murdering it for the sins of its father.

Just saying.
