2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie Supporters---you gave it the best you had. I commend you.
But now the primary is over, Bernie has reached out to Hillary offering his complete support---and now we go and crush the GOP assholes.
For the last several months you guys have owned GD-Primaries--and the front page of DU. Not having you around anymore will be a bit weird....a DU without hundreds of Bernie threads----again weird.
My hat is off to you guys---you clapped unbelievably loud---unfortunately not loud enough.
Maybe 8 years from now you can try again.
God bless---trumad

Even though I expect the outcome you are "practicing" ultimately, I think it's really bad luck to assume such things or say them out loud (it's like saying, "boy, the traffic is sure moving this morning"; within seconds you will hit a line of backed up cars and be sitting in a parking lot). It's a long way till Super Tuesday and maybe beyond. And it's also bad form to gloat, especially prematurely.
Just a friendly comment.

(19,537 posts)... I know that corporate media and corporate interests are trying to make it sound like we should!!!
Hmm... Seems like Bernie has higher polling support now than Obama did then doesn't it? So many here trying to post today that Hillary has it wrapped up... Hmm... Seems more of a symptom that they are SCARED that he might win and are trying to exploit a poll spike whatever way they can when they can't win us over with issues, etc.

(19,537 posts)... and that momentum helped build his campaign after he won in Iowa. People were polled to support Hillary (rather than a Republican) early on when they mostly just knew her history and not others...
Debates probably also didn't hurt him either, which is probably why Hillary proponent DWS wants to risk our party's message itself not being heard in order to rig it to keep Hillary in the lead by having less of them, and scheduling them poorly on weekends when no one watches, and the next one right at the same time as the undefeated college football team in the state has a rivalry football game scheduled against Minnesota. Hmm... Almost sense that they wanted to control Iowans who attended the Iowa debates or who watched them too.

(20,043 posts)However I think it says a lot that Bernie supporter wanted a picture with Hillary and that she took one with them.
This wasn't a prank like it was with Jeb. She could see they were Bernie people & they wanted a picture with her. It's a shame that someone took what appears to be a nice picture/gesture and made it into a nasty meme.

(39,961 posts)This sort of crap will make me redouble my efforts, of course, and just pisses me off.
But hey, we all have our way of campaigning. If they choose to use the path of ridiculing voters into voting for their candidate, brow beating them and shaming them into voting for their candidate, what in the hell are those people voting for?
More of the same ridicule, shame and brow beating.
I vote for someone who inspires hope. Life is too short to invest in negative emotions and to be influenced by them.

(6,282 posts)If she does indeed win, which is far from a certainty, we must keep pushing her to the left on Nov. 9, 2016. One way to do that is to be critical and pushback on her deeply Republican goals.
