Finding a suitable venue on this short notice would be extremely difficult and even more expensive.

Thousands and thousands of people have already made reservations, bought plane tickets, and would be forced to change to whatever crap location the Republican Party could book on short notice.

It would be nearly impossible to move their convention at the last minute.

Though it would be a hell of a lot of fun to watch the flustercluck caused by trying.

My hotel has taken the money and there is NO refund on Reims booked. On the plus side, we have a lot of police, medics, and national guard on hand to switch into emergency management in a moments notice. Worse thing is that people coming in from all over the country don't know all the particulars about hurricanes. The downtown hotels may need to be evacuated, flooding is more than likely, and electricity may go down. If anyone is in a hotel or renting condo/ home may be without power OR they may be evacuated. If they are in onenof those high roses and the storm comes close or dead on, windows can blow out and no electricity means heat plus stairs as the only means to their rooms may be an issue.

Plus, there are a bunch of protestors doing the tent thing... The city needs to open enough shelters for all these extra people; especially for those without a more permanent sheltered structure.

We are looking at a potential nightmare + many people who live local, are older, and reside in mobile parks (tin cams), they are the first to be evacuated. Many choose to go to a hotel for comfort, space, and to bring their animals with them. We r booked out (we are a "level 5 evac hotel), we allow pets) at our hotel. The rates are stacked high for any rms left over and we have no pet rms available. So the Pukes and their party are screwing poor seniors again.

All those public assets can be sued to help people who will be hurt by the hurricane.

After all the shit they have said about women in the last few days, the way they are treating the elderly and the poor, I don't care any more.

The outcome might change a few voters' minds, especially if the federal government is very helpful. Kind of hard to criticize big government when you're accepting help.
