If you live in a state that polls red, you are still irresponsible if you don't vote.

"None of the people I support can win here" is not an excuse.

We have statewide elections that directly affect the services in our states. We have local elections that determine quality of life.

Many politicians start out at the local level, become admired, go on to the state representation and the Presidency.

Get off of your butt (I know that is suddenly a dirty word) and get to the polls every damn time they are open, know what you are voting for, and the carload of people you are driving to the polls know what you are voting for, too.

Frankly, she works *against* the party more times than she works *for* it.

It's up to us - the voters. Enthusiasm is invaluable. I have that for Bernie Sanders.

If I do my part effectively, I really don't need DWS.

Get people registered. Help people who cannot get to the polls get absentee ballots in advance. Posts in the Populist Group and all over DU discuss these things. If anyone is out of ideas, they should search DU.

Also, if your state is not using paper ballots or at least a machine that gives a receipt, you should be all over that issue constantly with your state legislators.

In fact, we need to focus state and local on a many more things (another reason why TPP is so dangerous.)

Help your neighbors that can't get to the polls to get there, help young people sign up so that they can go to the polls, too, and take an interest in local/state politics.

Which is exactly what I stated in the OP, but hell, I'm happy to repeat that message endlessly in hope that we can get some better candidates no matter what level

encouraging people to vote, help the elderly to the polls and help young people get registered to vote would net a snark.

Oh well, I will keep on doing my part to aid more representation in the political landscape, and you can do whatever it is you thought to accomplish with this post.

People who don't vote are irresponsible.

Some people don't vote, because they can't as a result to Republican's 'desire' to fight against 'fraudulent' voting.

I am eligible to vote. I take people that are eligible to vote to the polls, and help sign up new voters.

If you are ineligible to vote, you aren't irresponsible. Mostly that strikes me as a travesty no matter what you have done as long as you are a citizen of the United States.

I hope that clarified my position.

voting eligibility.

What I can control is helping people get to the polls so they can elect politicians that want to ensure their voters are able to do so.

This is not about Republican voter suppression - to the contrary. It is about aiding those that may not vote because they a. cannot get to the polls or b. aren't registered.

I just do the best that I can to help those that want to vote, to be able to vote.
