Question for any present or former Wal-Mart workers that might be on here.

To any of you who might have been employed there when Hillary was on the board of directors. Did your pay, working conditions or benefits improve during her time?

The shit hit the fan after Sam Walton died--and Clinton was gone by then.

I have to say it is a bit amusing when people make smug OPs that don't marry with facts!

If she is elected I am sure we will see the same changes for all working people that we did with Wal-Mart workers during her time there.

He paid a decent wage (the lowest he could get away with--BUT he offered profit sharing and that was a good deal) and his employees were loyal. He was a sexist who paid women less than men for as long as that was legal, which is why there was only one token female on "his" board, but someone had to smash that glass ceiling.

The Walmart Disconnect happened after he got lymphoma and died in 1992, and his heirs started milking that cow. By then, Clinton was long gone.

But it wasn’t just Wal-Mart’s image that began to change after Walton’s death. It was also the way the company did business. Wal-Mart’s new leaders took to heart one element of the founder’s business philosophy — the importance of reducing costs — but they didn’t show his intuition about the importance of making employees feel as though they had a stake in the company. They were already at a disadvantage as it was. Wal-Mart’s rate of growth was impressive but slower than in its early years — the inevitable result of becoming so big — and this weakened the appeal of such incentives as stock ownership. But character also played a role. The company’s focus on saving money was leading it to make unrealistic demands of local managers, particularly with regard to payroll, and this pressure would eventually lead to serious trouble.

You are, of course, correct. It is ridiculous. But you see, we simply can't expect young kids to understand timelines--particularly things that happened back in those ancient days of the eighties and early 1990s, I guess...

To any of you who might have been a citizen here during the 20 plus years that Bernie has been in Congress. Did your pay, working conditions or benefits improve during his time?

I wonder how the life of my daughters have been improved because of Bernie's stint in both houses for the last 20+ years.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

"...married to the mighty and all powerful Clinton penis!" What a despicably sexist thing to say.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Nov 7, 2015, 02:34 PM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Stupid, sexist right wing meme.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Ugly, sexist post. Hide.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The original OP should be locked as flame bait. There are plenty of snarky posts in the thread. This one doesn't rise above the others. When OPs are posted as trash to start a fight, then the mayhem of bash and trash escalates until someone goes too far and there's a hide. I think DU should allow such threads to start, but once they do - who cares at that point. Leave it.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Someone needs their sarcasm radar fixed.
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Really? The Clenis resurfaces?

No.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

Still beating that dead horse? Yeah, sure, the very junior and only woman in the board of directors should have waved her magic wand and poof, everything would have changed.

that's why she has so many union endorsements. Do you claim to know more than labor leaders on which candidate would be more friendly to the work force?
