A Fleeting Observation about current Election Coverage.....

I barely watch News television anymore, as I can't stand to watch Republicans lie to the American people with a straight face,
while the Media continues to crow "the election will be close" in order to make sure Citizen United Dollars
find themselves in the coffers of our Big 5's News Monopoly (Comcast/GE, Time-Warner, Disney, Viacom and News Corp)....

So when I do watch News, it is usually in very short dozes usually while I'm navigating my DVR.

What I caught over the weekend was the beginning of some program about Romney on CNN. The first segment
of the entire program (which is all that I saw) was not about Romney at all, but about Ann Romney and the period in her life when she was diagnosed with MS. I saw about 3 minutes of it, along with a Romney son tearfully providing details. I was kind of surprised that the story of his wife having MS would actually lead what appeared to be a Bio program for the Republican Candidate. It seemed so obvious (to me anyways) that they were playing the sympathy card by opening up with this story, as opposed to including it within at some point.

Then, yesterday, I was going to the DVR, and the Channel was on ABC (Disney).....

Again, the story there was about Ann Romney's MS.....

Perhaps I'm being "unfeeling" about how much Ann Romney's MS should be stressed when discussing Romney's life......
But the way this story is being featured (so prominently) leaves me feeling like the MS is being exploided rather than anything else.

Again, I no longer watch enough television to know if my stumbling on to these two instances was coincidental...
or whether the MS story is being featured so much until it wouldn't matter when I turned on my television.

Saw a story about Ann Romney's miscarriage. Tragic for anyone, but hardly appropriate for a campaign.

Romney would be lambasting Obama for his cold-hearted disregard for his family, campaigning when he should be home caring for her.

And he's be suggesting that with a wife with such a condition, he should not be trying to be President.
