Listened to Mitt on MSNBC talking about his missionary work...

I let my guard down for a minute, and expected to hear an impressive story about his selfless and hard scrabble work in some downtrodden third-world country. He went on to explain he had been a missionary in...FRANCE!

Having known Peace Corps volunteers and a few people who were real missionaries (in scary places), I couldn't help but laugh. Maybe this is why he is so afraid to talk about his faith. It's not the fact he's a Mormon. It's the fact he has always lead a coddled life of privilege, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, insulated from the hard realities of the world.

...however percentagewise, there is only a fraction of poor in France compared to the U.S.

'Mitt Romney. A Friend to the French.'

Don't think that will go over well with the freeper contingent.

5. What I don't understand about Mitt, missionary work, and Mormons is that

they can get consciences objector status to avoid military duty, which I believe Mitt used. Am I correct about this? If this is the case, how can one become POTUS and put other people in harm's way once you already claimed this status in the past?

to the faith, not to help the poor. Mormons do help the poor, but their missionary program is all about recruiting. And, recruiting is all about $$$.

What are the French...not as worthy of saving as the Sudanese?

If you show up at their door unannounced with The Book of Mormon...do they not turn off the lights and cower behind their distinctive designer SOFA!?
