Rubio is clueless.

He is describing an America that only exists when there is law and order and ongoing safeguarding of a multitude of things. My safety net is more important to me than any opportunity, as I am one of those people who was completely wiped out during the Bush administration, when I thought I was on my way. Then came MS. I am already on the safety net, and unless there is a miracle or some really fast medical advances, expect to be for the rest of my life, which has surely been shortened by a few years. I am living my retirement years now. Nobody I know has enough $ to scrape together to start a new venture. The America Rubio talks of sounds awesome, and *is awesome, when that's how we work. Right now, there is nothing left to start much with. They have vacuumed out everything they can. If they get in, you can bet they will vacuum out what is left by placing a bunch in free market accounts. It will be the death of the social safety net (and other bad stuff). I'm all for my freedom, but I think that should include some law and order around here...When is that gonna happen?

Good post. Thank you. I think you're right...the safety net will go, if they get in. nt Honeycombe8 Aug 2012 #1
