Hillary Clinton is no wall street sheriff

Hillary Clinton is no wall street sheriff

By Abby Higgs

November 30, 2015

This fall, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton announced plans to crack down on Wall Street. Clinton says she wants to punish Wall Street “bad actors” on an individual basis. She claims she’ll implement a ban on brokers and bankers who violate rules from future employment in the financial industry.

That’s a huge leap compared to the “new normal” standard of punishment that’s doled out to perpetrators of major white collar crimes. Remember, not a single Wall Street bad actor was jailed for anything tied to the 2008 financial crisis. Instead, firms settled with the government—and oftentimes the individual Wall Street criminals retained their positions.

~Snip~

The Atlantic reported that as secretary of state, Clinton helped UBS Group AG by stepping in on an IRS investigation, and subsequently the Swiss bank paid former President Bill Clinton $1.5 million for speaking gigs and, between 2008 and 2014, donated a cumulative sum total of about $600,000 to the Clintons’ nonprofit charity.

Back in May, UBS was one of four major banks to plead guilty to manipulating foreign exchange rates. They cheated clients to boost their own profits by utilizing “invitation only” Internet chat rooms and coded language to hatch their plan and execute their trades.

Based on her rhetoric, UBS would be one of Candidate Clinton’s biggest foes, but, the financial institution is one of her biggest donors.

Yes, you are right most politicians have to spend their own money:
However, the Clinton's didn't run or own a corporation like the GOP:
Every penny came from hard work. They have never lived off any
employees labor.

Also, since the Clinton's have been the leaders off the party for
so long they have given great deal to the Dem party over time.

As for living off others labor, where exactly do you think those corporations are getting that money to pay her speakers fees, while insisting that an extra couple of bucks an hour for their workers would be insane and irresponsible?

There is a nation full of 50 somethings who have worked their asses off their whole lives for their communities and country, and very few of them get to start cashing million dollar checks at the end of it.

Bill and Clinton's are not just any two people, they have
proven themselves of worthy of the Presidency and other
offices by the American people.

The Nations is not full of Clinton's, Clinton's have had a unique
history with American like no other two people: you post
reeks of jealousy an envy.

I like, many Americans admire the Clinton's smart, success and
fighting spirit they have put forth on behave of American. I hope
Hillary becomes President like the most Dem's do.
I dint' think any amount of money could equal what the Clinton's
have given to the US.
I don't think many people begrudge the Clinton's success like you do:
I hope they make as much money as the want, they usually give
their money to a good cause.

I think you are the color of green: not the Clinton's

More Sanders, bah bah: No one owns the Clinton's,
they only became part of 1% after they left the white house,
and after they were in the 50's. They have never been in
charge of a corporation, and never lived off employees,
they earned every penny with hard work.

The money they have earn has gone to charity or supporting
Dem's.

They ran one of the most successful Administrations in history;
most American's did well under the Clinton's. Many people
go rich including the middle class.

The Clinton's left the white house in debt due to the GOP,
they deserve to get rich selling their experience in books
and speaking.

Again the have also been running one of the most successful
charities in history:

No one should begrudge them the success: they have earned it
not inherit, or received it from running a corporation.

I cheer successful people I don't bash them: but since you are
Sanders support a Senator who has only talked good game
and has very little success except from a very small state
is you kind of guy

I like people who are smart and get thing done for the American
people like the Clintons

You need to run for office if think is easy joke to get elected,
especially to the most powerful as US in the world, and
deal a card to the public as the Clintons did, they paid
the price with all the GOP attacks.

I think 25 million is too low: they should demand what
people are freely wanting pay them. Most of their
money goes to the Dem's party, and to charity

The Clintons are multi-millionaires, well up into the upper 1%, so 'most of there
money" is sitting in their personal bank accounts or tied up in the Clinton Foundation.

Clintons have done fund-raisers (with other people's money, who turn out for the
events) for Dems and some charities, but their personal fortunes are legendary ... did
you not know this?

Bill and Hillary have worked for every penny, what they
have is chump change compared with generational inheritance of Koch Brothers and
the Walmart family: The Clinton's are not in their league, they
are workers, not capitalist in the traditions meaning they have
been in public services. The Clinton's are only worth 150m together,
and that is with all the assist liquated.
Trump would call the Clinton's cash for losers: I think they have been hero's
to keep putting their lives out for public serves: The Clinton's have to go
begging for money for Dem party: Trump can buy and election so
can the GOP.
There is nothing legendary about the Clinton fortune its only been around
since they were in their 50s. The Clinton's came from one of the poorest
red states in America.

Maybe its time for you to do some Homework? and stop bashing the Clinton's
and bash the GOP.

They did run the country for 8 years: what is wrong with these pictures: you
would only happy if the Clinton's were beggars on the street: Sorry they
are fighters for the American people. You seem to just
have personal bias toward the Clinton's.

You are just green with envy: I say three cheers for the Clinton's hard
work and success in helping to run this country they have always dealt
the American people good cards in the game of politics: just check out the Clinton's budgets!

Trump and Koch's planes are ten times more expenses: and it good that Hillary
can afford the plan, less campaign money she will have to spend traveling,
and she will be able to fly where ever she is needed: to help other Dem races,
her party, or her own campaign.
