Bernie was the only Senator to skip the ACA vote yesterday.

Apparently Bernie wanted to catch a plane so he could campaign in New Hampshire. He ended up skipping the ACA vote so he could campaign.

The bill repealing the ACA passed 52 to 47. That means Sanders was the only Senator to skip the vote.

Keep in mind there are other Senators running for President, yet they were able to stop campaigning and cast a vote.

The ACA is an extremely important piece of legislation. Just look at how determined conservatives are to take health coverage away from millions of Americans. Skipping this vote is not the same as skipping other votes.

Sanders needed to be there.

Plus his vote would have made NO difference in the outcome, and Pres Obama will veto the bill anyway.

You really don't have a leg to stand on with your complaint.

BTW, when Hillary was in Congress, she missed around 80% of the votes when campaigning. Of course, maybe that was a good thing, now that I think about it!

back when she was in the Senate, then this is just tit for tat and we are better than that.

Both sides here at DU are better than that and if we arent, we need to look at ourselves.

Granted, the criticizing of HIllary is endless here, rightwing sources are used as well, so I understand your frustration.

If his vote would have made a tangible difference I'm sure he would have been there. As it stands any vote he made would have been largely symbolic and changed precisely zero.

Dragging a good candidate through the mud over something so inane is not a winning strategy.

Oh yeah... the ACA provides healthcare to NO ONE. It mandates them to purchase increasingly expensive private insurance with decreasing payouts and increasing deductibles and out of pockets and subsidizes these payoffs to insurance companies with public funds. Honestly I'd have even more respect for Sanders if he'd voted against it originally.

Senators running for president have scheduling conflicts and miss votes, and the leadership works with them. It's a normal occurrence. To assail Sanders on this, I would have to assume that a) Reid and Durbin told Sanders to get his ass back to Washington and b) Sanders blew them off, neither of which appear to be the case.
