Libertarian Gary Johnson is killing republicans lol! They continue to try to get him removed from

the ballot.

Gary Johnson Stays On Virginia Ballot

REPUBLICAN EFFORTS TO BOOT LIBERTARIAN CANDIDATE FAIL

Efforts by GOP attorneys to keep Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson off of the November 2012 presidential ballot in Virginia have failed.

The Virginia Board of Elections rejected an appeal by the Republican Party of Virginia this week that sought to challenge Johnson’s petition signatures – paving the way for the former New Mexico Governor to appear on the ballot alongside GOP nominee Mitt Romney and Democrat Barack Obama.

Also appearing on the Virginia presidential ballot? Former U.S. Rep. Virgil Goode, an ex-Republican from Old Dominion’s fifth congressional district who is the Constitution Party’s presidential nominee.

In a state where Romney and Obama are currently tied (at least according to the latest Rasmussen survey), the addition of these two candidates to the ballot is a big deal. In fact were Romney to lose Virginia and its by a narrow margin thanks to Johnson or Goode – it could conceivably swing the entire election in Obama’s favor. Our view on that? Tough shit, Republicans. Seriously, as we’ve noted on numerous occasions – most recently in this piece – if the party of “individual liberty” and “limited government” actually believed in those ideals, then it would have nominated a candidate who supported them. Instead Republicans nominated Romney.

Gary Johnson still fighting to keep his name on the ballot in Pennsylvania

The Libertarian Party of Florida started early in the process of the election cycle to ensure Gary Johnson would be on the ballot in Tampa Bay and throughout the State of Florida. However, that process did not go so smoothly in all 50 states. Within the last week, Gary Johnson has claimed victories against the GOP Establishment that worked to keep him off the ballot in the states of Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, and Virginia. Nonetheless, as of Thursday, 06 September, Gary Johnson is still fighting for a place on the ballot in the State of Pennsylvania.

The most recent developments in Pennsylvania

The Libertarian Party officially needs 20,601 valid signatures to have Gary Johnson’s name placed on Pennsylvania’s ballot for President of the United States. This is in contrast to the mere 2,000 signature requirement for Republicans and Democrats in that state. The campaign started with over 49,000 signatures.

These 49,000 petition signatures have fallen into three categories: Valid, invalid, or contested. As of Thursday, approximately 16,000 signatures have been verified. There are another 15,000 signatures considered to be contested. Unfortunately, thousands of signatures have already been thrown out as invalid.

Gary Johnson setting up to be the most influential factor for Romney and Obama

Little known Libertarian Party presidential candidate Gary Johnson is rapidly becoming one of the most serious influences in the November 6, 2012 general election and the impact of his campaign has Barack Obama and Mitt Romney campaigns nervous. So nervous, Romney's campaign and the Republican Party have been working in multiple states to remove Johnson's name from the ballot. A decision is expected Tuesday concerning a challenge Iowa Republicans had raised and is expected to end in Johnson's favor, securing him on that state's ballot. Johnson, Obama and Romney are the only three presidential candidates who are expected to be on the ballot in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Johnson says he's running to win the election and his issues are closer to the majority of Americans than either Mitt Romney or Barack Obama so if Americans decided solely based on the issues, he could win. Unfortunately for Johnson, most Americans vote based on political party or name recognition and not the issues. His hurdle has been garnering the necessary media coverage to rate high enough in national polls to be a serious contender due to respondents not knowing who he is - if his name is mentioned at all during the polling. To be included in the presidential debates, candidates need to show a minimum of 15% national polling, which Johnson is not currently attaining; again due to the minimal amount of media coverage he is receiving on an on-going basis. That could rapidly change, however if Ron Paul throws his support behind Johnson. Ron Paul is scheduled to be on Jay Leno's Tonight Show Tuesday evening and many Paul supporters are spreading the rumor he will announce support for Johnson on the show.

He was in the state senate for many years (some as a Democrat), and in Congress for a long time. He is a jerk, but he will pull in about 7% of the vote here...almost all from potential Romney voters.

...if they absolutely hate both candidates. If you are a dye in the wool libertarian, you really, really hate your choices right now.

And I think the RNC made a major critical error over what they did at the convention with those Ron Paul delegates.

Why? It's Obama's home state of Illinois. The Libertarian party could only manage .356% of the vote.

throughout the video he speaks of how it's the republicans trying to remove 3rd party candidates.
then at the end basically says he believes Obama will try to remove them to. but nothing in video say the President has anything to do with what the GOP is doing.

I get he is a Lib supporter great, but don't make up bullshit about our guy stick to the facts.

If he had left that last part out I would have rec'd this video

9. The Republican Party is doomed
Sun Sep 9, 2012, 01:59 AM
Sep 2012

They will lose this election. In reasonse, they will go even more batshit insane, and purge their party of even more "leftist" elements, in the belief that the reason for their failure is not being far enough to the right, compromising too much, not enough ideological purity.

They will lose it so hard that the Average Joe republican vobter is going to wake up from his snooze in front of the Fox news Channel, and wonder what the fuck happened. Even for Joe Republican, these guys will be fucking nutz.

Oh, the republican voters won't come to the Democrats - you don't shed forty years of blind, seething, absolutist hatred just 'cause your party dumps you on the roadside. No, these voters are going to go to other conservative parties; Libertarians, Constitution, maybe smaller or new factions.

After this election, we'll be looking at a reinvigorated Democratic party facing off against a conservative movement that still has the numbers, but can't solidify them into a voting bloc.

We coulda had that after 2010, but hey.. .gotta teach those Democrats a lesson, right?

10. Now the 3rd article said that Gary Johnson running in the GE
Sun Sep 9, 2012, 04:41 AM
Sep 2012

has both Romney and Obama nervous. But I'd like to know--how is it bad for our side that he's running? I would imagine that not many libertarians and Paulites were going to support Obama anyway. Romney had a chance to cash in on their support at the RNC, and he blew it. He's the one missing out on potential supporters. Johnson is just another libertarian broken-clock; the only issues he is compatible with liberals on are drug policy, gay rights, foreign policy, and the Patriot Act.

11. The youth perhaps?
Sun Sep 9, 2012, 05:08 AM
Sep 2012

A lot of youth voted for Nader instead of Gore in 2000 and blew up that election.

The youth is an issue because they are historically unreliable, especially the under 30s who turned out HUGE for Obama in 2008 and no one is really sure if they will show up this time around. Pollsters say the enthusiasm in this age group is way down from 2008 levels. And people with OWS is disillusioned right now. Look how they were protesting the DNC saying they hate both parties.

I read this article as a HUGE 'endorsement' for President Obama! If VA voters believe their vote will give Gary Johnson a victory, then my 10 years spent SOUTH of Richmond gives credence to my opinion of the reading of the article.
