Donald Trump warns that Bernie Sanders will end golfing in the United States

Donald Trump warns his supporters: ‘No more golf’ if Bernie Sanders wins

Electing Bernie Sanders as president would lead to the end of golfing in the United States, according to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

“We have to be progressive in our thinking,” Trump said during a campaign rally in Hilton Head, South Carolina. “When I say progressive I mean like smart. I’m not talking progressive like a Bernie Sanders would say.”

“This guy wants to tax you — think of it — this guy wants to raise your taxes to 90 percent,” he continued. “No, no, think. You’ll have to move out — I love this area by the way, I’ve been here many times. Great golfing area, right? We love it. No more golf — no more golf. You won’t have any golf any more. You won’t have any money left to be golfing.”

It’s not the first time Trump has accused Sanders of wanting to raise taxes to 90 percent — a claim that PolitiFact has rated as “Pants on Fire” in October. The fact-checking website said “Sanders has never explicitly proposed a 90 percent tax rate for billionaires, let alone applying that rate across the board.”

Was I the only one who found it a bit ironic that Trump himself has part Scottish blood and he has decimated some pristine Scottish dunes by turning them into a golf course.

This is like some weird Karma since the Scots supposedly invented Golf.

If they are taken , it will be the will of the people as they enjoy benefits of representative democracy. Bernie does not believe in authoritarian decisions, he believes in the right of the people to control their government including tax policy, tax rates, and deductions. Hillary supporters on this site are increasingly frustrated and since Hillary provides no positions as popular on their own than Bernie's they resort to republican talking points or even accusing Bernie of being a draft dodger like Bill Clinton was accused of by republicans. They spend inordinate amounts of time telling us not to criticize Hillary too much because this gives republicans talking points to use against her later. I have no idea why her supporters do not see talking points against her husband will not harm her because a lot of her support is tied to her husband's popularity. Their desperate need to say something to hurt Bernie has led to abandonment of reason and gross hypocrisy, and damage to their own candidate.

water; then, you should probably know that most AZ golf courses are irrigated using reclaimed water ... water that settles back into the water table.

I've seen Hillary supporters defend Trump's 90% claim here.

Hysterical.
