Crowd Gathers to Greet Donald Trump in Bernie Sanders Territory
Wearing Make America Great Again hats and hoodies, dozens of people some of whom had arrived as early as 4:30 a.m. snaked around the block along Burlingtons Main Street in the hope of getting one of the theaters 1,400 seats. The Trump campaign distributed more than 20,000 tickets to the event, sending the theaters administrators and the local police department into a frenzy on how to handle the huge overflow.
Those bundled up outside just wanted to see the billionaire businessman in the flesh. Surprisingly, some were fans of both Mr. Trump and Mr. Sanders, the Vermont senator seeking the Democratic nomination, and were trying to decide which one to back.
I think hes smart, and he has the best chance of winning support and maybe flipping the state, Daniel Nadeau, 22, of St. Albans, Vt., said of Mr. Trump. Bernie is my No. 1 choice, and Trump is No. 2. Theyre not that different.
Voters who were on the fence between the seemingly polar-opposite candidates said that both communicated well with working-class people and made strong cases for how they would boost the economy, despite their differing policy ideas.

Personally I wouldn't send 18,600 more tickets to my supporters than the facility could hold, on one level that might be "smart" insuring that you get a capacity crowd but on the other, I imagine some people might get antagonized at standing in the cold having a ticket to an event which they can't get into.
At the very least, it's not very considerate to your supporters.

(16,286 posts)I think they are knowingly and intentionally creating a public hazard.
If anyone is hurt, I would love to have a piece of the attorney's firm handling the plaintiffs case.

(17,469 posts)he's hoping for "dead", the bloodier the better, and hopefully reporters. He wants to see the police descend on the crowd like its Chicago in 1968.

(17,469 posts)Trump wants as many of his fascist followers as possible in one place and he wants a riot, something he thinks will bolster his appeal. The more he can do to make the world look like the nightmare fever dream of his campaign, the more powerful he thinks he will become.

(23,156 posts)is an idiot, pure and simple. It's truly scary that people like him vote.
Uncle Joe
(58,362 posts)is a two edged sword, it can be righteous and lead to positive transformation or it can be misdirected leading to self-consumption and destruction while Bernie is tapping into the former, Trump is most assuredly playing on the latter.

(84,711 posts)Get a Venue that's too small and create a Rukus when people who bought tickets can't get into the place and riots occur and the MSM can't wait to Report it?
Uncle Joe
(58,362 posts)but I don't believe his supporters had to pay for the tickets, it's sorry enough as it is but that would be some serious shit.
