More millennial women support Bernie than Hillary. A lot more.

Overall, millenials support Bernie by a margin of 11 points. Older millenials slightly favor Hillary. Younger ones heavily support Bernie.

There is an age divide within the millennial generation. Among those 18 to 25 years old, Sanders has a big lead. Among those 26 to 34, Clinton has a small edge.

There is a gender gap as well — and not the one that favors Clinton among baby boomer women. Men under 35 support Sanders by 4 percentage points. Women back him by almost 20 points. The possibility of breaking new ground by electing the first female president apparently carries less persuasive power among younger women than their mothers' generation.

president is inevitable some day, especially after just electing and re-electing a black man. They realize there is no need to be foaming at the mouth as if it was going to be the only chance ever to elect a woman this time. Eventually one will emerge and run that will make a fine president.

Nuff said. It was a Matrilineal Society and saw things longer term than short term. Bernie follows the former NOT the latter. Women generally think this way over men, which explains Bernie's substantial lead amongst women under 35, especially compared to their male peers.

the young women simply find it hard to identify with someone old enough to be their grandmother. Not very fair, but probably true.

In a similar way, I was all of twelve years old when JFK was elected, and in all the years since then, I have simply never looked at a photo of him and seen a young, attractive man. He was of the older generation, and while I liked him as President, I have never understood his appeal otherwise.

Added on edit: And probably the main reason so many older women are in the Hillary camp is that we are like her at least as far as age and stage of life is concerned, and the want one of their own to be in the Oval Office.
