cleanse the house of GOP and Tea Party. Admittedly: that will cost some effort, and some campaign donations. But really: are we insured against neo-fascists overstaying their welcome? Can we afford more corporatism running wild?

I think not.

you'll vote for Sanders, I suppose. I don't see that as the result, however, of a Sanders nomination. In fact, I see just the opposite happening. I could be wrong, of course. I sometimes am.

by burning down the house. You'll get the termites; but, you'll have to find someplace else to live.

Tent the house and fumigate it, make any necessary repairs, and you'll be in great shape. Having lived in California, I've done that once. It was a lot simpler than berning down the house and rebuilding.

Doing regular maintenance on a house is the best way to ensure a long life for it. Having lived only in homes at least 50 years old all of my life, I'm more or less constantly doing upkeep on my home. I fix what needs fixing, make upgrades when I think they'd be valuable, and continue to live in a home I've put effort into maintaining.

I've never really been interested in paying for a brand new home. It just hasn't made sense for me. Doing what's necessary to keep it comfortable, livable and attractive is well worth the effort.

You are sounding more and more desperate every day.

Cheer up! Your top three issues are "beating Republicans, beating Republicans and beating Republicans" so you should be happy Bernie is doing so well. All those establishment polls, which Clinton supporters love so much, show him doing much better against the (R)s than Hillary.

It may be time to switch your support. If you really want to make sure there is no (R) in the White House in 2017 then you should be with Bernie.

unexpected results are the problem. If the house burns, despite your plans, you're still stuck with no place to live until it's rebuilt. If you fry a turkey in your attached garage, you might be planning a family Thanksgiving dinner, which might well be delayed for a year or two. Happens ever year.

On the other hand, there are some who think burning it all down is the only approach that will work. I've seen that sentiment expressed as well. I disagree with that point of view.

1 ... do we just leave the doors and windows unlocked (proverbially speaking) and let the thieves come in at will,

2 ... or do we go to a planner and get a plan and start Somewhere...Anywhere?

3 ... or just accept our fate of being Peasants in an Oligarchy. Because behind Door Number Three is what's happening. Bow to the Lords of Gold Sacks et al...and their Trumpeteeress. (not to be confused with a certain person with orange face and hair)

Oh, and one never gets prepared for Anything without a Vision and Someone to head up the project...and that we have...just one.

But of course that's the point, some of us admit that we need to rebuilt and some think it's perfectly fine the way it is.

I don't think Bernie will be the nominee, but if that were to happen, I believe we will have a government with all three branches in Republican hands. The result of that will be a de facto scorched earth result.

That's my opinion, of course. I could be wrong. Sometimes I am.

is "burning down the house". The country was surely "up in flames" when FDR through JFK were in the White House.

Merely the greatest era of American prosperity ever -- prosperity, which, since the time of Reagan and continuing through today's corporate politicians of both parties, has largely disappeared . But let's not interrupt your B.S.

Not supporting the inevitable Mrs. Clinton is just like burning down the whole house!

Argh!

Panic and fear!

Only the inevitable Mrs. Clinton can save the entire village!

It could burn down, too, if we don't get a hold of our senses!

:: facetious ::

I suspect we can expect more of this apocalyptic messaging as the inevitable becomes less and less inevitable.
