If A Man Asks What Women Have Been Asking For Centuries, Will Men Finally Listen?

Domestic violence is a crime that victimizes everyone, regardless of gender. If you or anyone you know, men or women, are currently in a dangerous situation, please help. The National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233) has great resources to assist both men and women who are being abused.

When a coworker says it's time to get out, a caravan of jalopies appear at her door and her fellow nurses move her out right then.

I've seen that happen more than once.

Unfortunately, a great many men would rather stand around in smoky groups trying to figure out what women want. It will never dawn on any of them to ask women that question.

Or the nurses walk together. It's creepy you know-- that fear we take for granted as how it's supposed to be

She works staggered hours night shifts so she can be around home, during the day for her kids.

I have to tell you knowing she walks out to the parking lot, many times alone, scares the crap out of me. She tries to find people to at least watch her walk out but sometimes that's just not possible.

I use to have to walk out to the lot alone many times at night when I was a waitress. That was many years ago and in a fairly small town but it was scary as all hell.

Guess we all do what we gotta do in order to make a living. Yep, we do just accept fear as a way of life. Something's wrong with that.

and resist the urge to spout the qualifiers that do nothing but derail and minimize the message.
