Why is overt sexism and racism coming back into fashion? For a short while there people at least pretended to be embarrassed to behave/talk this way.

said they did not have to be pc and they were proud of it, declaring they got to be racist, sexist and homophobic, though would not own that out loud if told.

internet has allowed a lot of people to connect in their validation of prejudices.

we see it here. we see people declare they will NOT be pc. that they have freedom of speech to be as offensive as they choose. and interesting side. they also demand that with their freedom of speech, it seems to mean no one is allowed to call them out on their racism, sexism and homophobia. i guess repressing others freedom of speech while demanding theirs to be bigot is a full win for them.

and they have many support and cheer them on

emboldens. and that is the backlash and how progression takes huge steps backwards. filtering and rippling thru out our society in so many ways.

What an idiot.

(Is that judgmental? Oh, wait! I don't use the Bible as my personal excuse for everything awful that I do and say, so I don't have to worry! Phew!)

It is a term that is used to defend racism, homophobia, misogyny, and all sorts of other nastiness. It is a term that is often intended to ridicule those who stand up to bigotry, and is often used to make racists look honorable by suggesting they are speaking out against conventional wisdom. I really wish more people would recognize just how often the term is used to defend bigotry and start calling this term out as the thinly cloaked bigotry that it often is.

worth losing your job to say, while in midair

I am sorry to announce that a passenger has informed me that they believe because I am a woman; I should not be in the cockpit flying this plane. Instead, I should be home bearing babies. I think I will oblige them their wishes. the remainder of this flight is now in God's hands. Unlike the passenger, I am being sarcastic. Of course I will fly this plane and get you to your destination safely. Well everyone except that passenger whose seat I am about to press the eject button on. Just joking.

WestJet could do us all a favor and suspend this guy's ability to fly on their airline if he's going to be a dick towards their personnel.
