"Sex work is work" is an idea which is well past its expiration date

Prostitution is actually inherently harmful.

1. First time I realized that Sex Work was work

Was when I saw the documentary -Live Nude Girls, UNITE!
Not Rated2000 ‧ Documentary/Indie film ‧ 1h 20m...currently on Amazon Prime.

( ignore the stuff about the directors mother)
Watching the women organizing a union for Exotic Dancers.
Roger Eberts 2001 review had this "There is the curious notion that strippers and prostitutes do what they do because they enjoy it. This is a fiction that is good for business."

Yeah, Sex Work is hard work

5. By link you mean the the tweet? Of course I've read it. The comparison is not absurd.

Wage slavery exploits your body and your life. I know people on permanent disability because of the work they have done. One committed suicide. Millions of Americans working full-time canít afford rent on an apartment. Your dismissal is absurd.

7. I didn't miss the point. I sympathize and agree with what's being expressed there. I added

a comment that expands on the idea, and you object because you want keep the conversation on one narrow point. Prostitution as metaphor for capitalism has been around for ages. See Godardís film Every Man For Himself.

12. Sorry, I didn't see the whole thread, only the OP. I can see why you would take exception.

I agree with the thread, and my only comment would be that we need to change a fundamentally patriarchal and exploitative system that pushes so many women into sex work in the first place.
