1st you must get 2/3 of both houses of Congress to propose the amendment, [or 34 state legislatures proposing a constitutional convention (a scary thing because no one knows the outcome).] Then 38 state legislatures will have to ratify the proposed amendments. I don't think the southern, midwestern and mountain state legistatures would even consider such an amendment.

But if you feel so strongly start lobbying your rep and senators to enter a bill.

Article V -- Amendment Process
http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/usconstitution/a/a5.htm
The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

Until that happens, you can do what I done did, renounce the 2nd amendment. A few years back.

I can still go out & buy a gun or two or 3 (in one month even), the 2ndA is not a prerequisite for owning a gun or buying one. It's a worthless outdated obsolete amendment which has been perverted & subverted today into meaning something almost entirely opposite of what it's original intent was. It protects us from nothing, causes immensely more harm than good.
