Interfaith education program to begin in Ganges

Holland, Mich. - Anyone who would like to learn about different faith traditions, a six-month interfaith education program will begin on May 9 at Mother's Trust Ashram in Ganges. One Saturday per month, participants will learn about a different faith tradition from a spiritual leader of that particular tradition.

Under the auspices of the Wellspring Institute for Interfaith Spiritual and Education, participants will learn about Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism and Indigenous Spirituality.

Wellspring trustees are all ordained Interfaith Ministers through All Faiths Seminary in New York City begun by Rabbi Joseph Gelberman (often considered the father of the Interfaith Movement in America). They are the Rev. Sharon Henry (Shaktima Puri Devi) and the Rev. Terry Lancaster (Premji Namadeva) who live and serve at Mother's Trust Ashram, and the Rev. Salvatore Sapienza, pastor of Douglas Congregational United Church of Christ.

Wellspring is a bridge builder between the wisdom traditions of the world. Its purpose is not to blend the traditions or to replace someone's chosen spirituality but to facilitate the growth of knowledge, appreciation and love for people of all spiritual paths.
