What do you think of them remaking OldBoy?

I had it in my list of films they shouldn't remake but it IS Spike Lee doing it. And Josh Brolin playing the lead, it's possible it could be done very well.

1. Well, scratch that looks like it's horrible...

I didn't know it had been released / reviewed yet. Looking at the reviewed, eww looks bad not that I'm surprised, this is why I said it shouldn't be remade.

2. Unfortunately

It had potential, if they had worked off the source material more rather than remaking the South Korean version. The original book is fantastic.

3. I felt the original Oldboy didn't nearly live up to its hype.

So as a result I don't feel so strongly about it.

Love me some Korean cinema but Oldboy was a little too convoluted and "over the top" for my taste.
