The KY Wildcats won the Global Jam Basketball tournament..

...they defeated a field that included Canada, Germany, and Africa.

Their win will likely put them into the pre-season Top Ten in the NCAA.

They looked like a threat to win their Ninth National Championship.

Winning the Global Jam Basketball tournament is no small feat, especially when going up against tough competition like Canada, Germany, and Africa. With a victory like that, it's safe to say they'll be shooting up the rankings and snagging a spot in the pre-season Top Ten of the NCAA. The Wildcats are definitely showing the skills and potential to make a serious run for their Ninth National Championship.

One and done programs don’t tend to win a lot of titles. Programs that have one or two might but mostly it’s teams with 3rd and 4th year players these days.

I heard a great interview with Pitino - this was on Mike and Mike to give you a reference. He was fully open. When someone (Celtics) offers you $50 M, you take it. He broke down the NBA’s 24 second shot clock and how you have maybe 6-10 seconds to actually run a play. He also said that despite all they play these days, he has to basically teach freshmen how to play (especially defense) and they aren’t really ready until maybe the conference tournament.

Didn’t see this until today when I went to post a brag about how much FUN this year’s team is to watch!

Their Globl Jam performance was just an appetizer. The salad course has been delish and it’s being served 21 feet short. As long as everyone stays healthy, it’s gonna be a fun season and I wouldn’t be surprised to add a ninth banner to Rupp 🏀
