Report: Raptors have held trade talks for Clippers' Kawhi Leonard

The possibility of Kawhi Leonard landing north of the border yet again appears to have gotten clearer.

The Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers have reportedly held "real trade conversations" about the star forward over the weekend, per NBA insider Jake Fischer on Sunday.

Leonard, 35, is in the final year of his current contract, which pays him $50.3 million before he hits unrestricted free agency next summer.

Fischer previously reported that the Raptors had "registered interest" in reuniting with the seven-time all-star, and Leonard would be "open to signing an extension" if he were dealt to Toronto.

This can't be real. Leonard is still good but he isn't quite at that elite level he was at when Toronto won their only title so I'm surprised they'd be interested in trading for him again in the last year of his deal unless he was serious about signing an extension. I don't necessarily trust him since he did that no-show endorsement deal with the Clippers owner for the scam company.

In any case this is only a trade rumor at this point.
