Prohibitionist Sabet: "Does any president want to experience a major legalization-related tragedy

...on their watch?"

http://www.oregonlive.com/mapes/index.ssf/2015/10/next_president_could_shut_down.html

Wait, a whut?

A "legalization-related tragedy". Mmmm, okay, let me envision a really bad one. Like, some 20 year old walks into an elementary school and kills twenty kids with a bag of Obama Kush.

That would be a horrible tragedy, wouldn't it? One whose shocking severity would clearly mandate we re-evaluate our legislative relationship to this obviously deadly... hey, wait. That would never happen! No one can walk into a classroom full of first graders and kill them in 5 minutes by wielding a bag of weed.

Legalization-related tragedy. That's, um... pretty fucking rich.

Or the Tobacco smokers who die from cancer each year. Nope, not a problem, so long as big fucking biz makes a profit on it.

right-wing rednecks eat shit!

I worked with old guys like that for years that were my friends but would have loved to have seen me fired if they knew I smoked weed, even though I was a good guy on the job. They just hated the 60's, the hippies, pot and everything associated with it so much. No way you could even talk to them about it without their getting angry.

I have buddies in Oregon and Washington with grower and medical cards. I've told them that no matter how tempting it is, not to be too "in your face" about it with redneck types. I'd love to be one of them though, and fire up a big fatty in front of some of those assholes!

The only folks still deeply committed to prohibition are those who directly benefit from the drug war, it seems.
