(3,017 posts)The Atlantic article linked in the Salon article (from a Clinton administration official who resigned over the welfare bill) is even better and more extensive.
I went to YouTube to see what Bernie Sanders said about welfare reform in 1994-95 and found this video of Bernie and several progressives discussing it in the House:
He is the same man now as he was then, and history shows he was on the right side of all the issues discussed in the video - welfare, the minimum wage, student loans, corporate welfare, a bailout of Mexico which was really a bailout of Wall Street which held speculative Mexican bonds that were going to default without a bailout, offshoring of jobs, campaign finance reform, tax cuts and "welfare reform" transferring money from the poor to the rich, etc.

(283 posts)Yes, she takes a lot of photo ops but let's not forget about Haiti and while we are at it let's look at what happened in Honduras when she was Secy of State sending children fleeing as refugees for their lives and she told them to go back to their certain deaths (which many did).
I can go on about what happened when she was dodging bullets in Bosnia or blah and blah blah Rwanda blah blah Haiti ... but, I also cannot forget what happened when the Clintons workfare program had parents forced to leave their children to work for minimum wage jobs ... and of course the parents couldn't afford daycare
Then they started in with the fun and games of super-predatory youth ... and the destruction of the American public schools through their neoliberal defunding games
It is so cynical and debased what Mrs Clinton has done ... so much so that if a Clinton wanted to "help" any child I know I would do everything to protect that child from them and both their neoconservative and neoliberal policies.
