Tara Houska, Ojibwe, Named Native American Advisor to Bernie Sanders
In her new role, Houska, who is Couchiching First Nation, will field press inquiries, recruit voters – particularly Native Americans – and assist with drafting Sanders’ Native American policy.
“I hope to elevate Native American issues at a high level,” she said. “Too much of America is unaware of the plights our communities face, and we are tired of hearing more of the same from politicians. I look forward to continued and expanded outreach in Indian country. Our voices and our votes matter.”

With the continued onslaught against the rights of Native Americans throughout the Americas it is about time someone provided an opportunity for all voices to be heard. Bernie Sanders! Wonderful. 
I know her looks shouldn't matter, but I just found her striking. 
And her name is similar to my own Native American ancestors' last name, which probably was "whitened" at some point through the years. Our last name was Huskey. I'm of Cherokee (and Irish) descent, like many Southerners. I should really read more up on that last name. It may very well be derived from Houska or something similar.
