I've held my tongue up till now, but every mention of AA voters putting in for Hillary-- the very next goddamn breath is either something something "low information voters", something something "name recognition", fucking-- "Stockholm Syndrome", fucking "Master/Slave relationship"-- it seems like the only time y'all give a damn about race, and this is as a Sanders supporter mind you-- the only time it seems y'all ever really give a damn about race is when it suits you. If that's not the case, please, enlighten me as to how it isn't, but when I see people claiming that part of my heritage, my people are part of some "confederacy" like we're still living in 18-fucking-64, that's where I have to get off the bus. You tar a VERY large demographic with a really fuckin' big brush, saying some shit like that, and if that's the cost of being a staunch supporter of Sanders, then count me off the bus.

Cause honestly, I'm in this for an end to interventionism. I'm in this for an end to discrimination. An end to corrupt oligarchic practice. But if it means part of who I am being denigrated for the actions of a few, y'all are no better than Jonestown.

I think what happened in the south, or at least in South Carolina was that many of the AA lawmakers got behind Hillary and did a strong outreach program and Bernie just didn't get any traction. I think many here are upset because Bernie has a strong civil rights record while Hillary has a history of promoting policies in the 90's that were detrimental to the AA community and this fact wasn't brought home enough to inform voters. Instead, there was a strong movement to paint Bernie as out of touch with needs of the AA community and a strong push to paint his supporters as racists. That's my take, in a nutshell.

I and many others here are also PoC and Sanders supporters.

Yes, AA as a voting bloc can be just as susceptible to low information voting as any other bloc. These myths being pushed that somehow these communities are smarter is just that a myth.

All Americans are low information and easily swayed by propaganda from our MSM. Many forget that while we on DU knew that Lewis backtracked after his lie and insinuation, that Huerta was debunked in her lies by Snopes, and that Capeheart was caught red-handed pushing yet another lie that photographic proof of Sanders in the civil rights movement was fake, most Americans do not. Snopes wasn't covered on CNN. Lewis backpedaled on a weekend. And Huerta NEVER issued a retraction. And Capeheart continues to deny reality and never retracted his false story. This is what Sanders is up against. And yes, it is working.

It is irrational for AA's in the South to vote for Clinton. Oh sure, she will pray with a bunch of black preachers and alter her accent to sound like one of us, but in positions of power she has been no friend of the AA community. She has called us superpredators, pushed mass incarceration, gutted welfare, pushed the expansion of the 'drug war', etc.

And don't you dare lecture Sanders supporters on giving a shit about race when Clinton supporters started the objectification game by playing 'count the color folks' in Sanders rallies from day one of his announcement in Vermont. Don't you dare talk down to us, minority or white, when Clinton supporters praised BLM ONLY when it was going after Sanders and O'Malley, who to both of their credit internalized the message and made massive changes to their policies and stump speeches. Clinton continues to dismiss, condescend, and have escorted out BLM protesters that go after her.

If you are serious about Sanders message of us instead of Clintons message of mine then stop falling for the fucking lies here and elsewhere. All Democrats and leftists are suffering from "Stockholm Syndrome" when year after year for the last 40 they have voted supposedly for a progressive Democrat and got a right of center neoliberal. How long can the left hold their noses? I do think that name recognition is still a big issue. I supported Jesse Jackson but even I didn't know much about Sanders until the Iraq War run up. And even then I still didn't know a lot. Why would I? The Clintons have been on the public stage for good or bad for decades. And yes, the Master/Slave relationship is real. Whenever you or any leftist lets an authoritarian prick tell you you are a traitor and a retard for wanting 'free shit' and then you turn around and hold your nose and vote for a neoliberal anyway, I am sorry but you are a slave to the blue team.

Virginia and Massachusetts being exceptions.

I hate to say the results really don't matter that much, but they do. we just have to focus on who'll secure the traditionally democrat leaning states and the swing states the best.

obnoxious, rude, despicable, arrogant bunch I've ever had the pleasure of putting on ignore. I have yet to see any sort of defense of her Republican-lite positions. It's all fawning adoration, and it's extremely off putting. So naive of them to think that her doing well in Southern states no Dem will win in November means anything beyond collecting delegates. The GE will be fought in the swing states, and most have not weighed in yet. Bernie's our firewall against a candidate who lines her pockets with Goldman Sachs money. That alone should disqualify her from representing the Democratic party. She doesn't represent my interests, and it's getting increasingly difficult imagining myself holding my nose to vote for her.

This campaign is a campaign against neoliberalism, not Hillary Clinton, the DNC Republicans or even that proto-Nazi with the atrocious combover.

We will end our campaign not when our standard bearer is victorious or vanquished, but when the last vestiges of crony capitalism is swept away, when corporate personhood is abolished, when money is made to sit down and shut up, when free trade agreements are abrogated, when NSA spying on US citizens ends, when the entire planet is recognized as a free speech zone, when wars for oil are no longer even contemplated, when crooked bankers go to jail, when one citizen/one vote is again sacrosanct, when citizenship is universal, when oil and coal stay underground, when putting solar panels on one's roof is encouraged rather than taxed, when universal healthcare is a right everywhere, when cops don't murder unarmed black children, when all men and women are brothers and sisters, when humanism and democracy reign and corporatism is only something scorned in history books along with climate change denial, racism, misogyny and sectarian bigotry then we will end our campaign.

And not before.

That's what Bernie said and I will be with him, win or lose. I have observed a remarkable team working with and for Senator Sanders.
They are working tirelessly to register and get out the vote. I received 3 calls in the past 30 days. There are so many remarkable accomplishments for this team over the past 9 months. I'm clapping, take a bow and a well deserved rest before moving on to the next primary.

The majority of the AA community has spoken loud and clear. They "got out the vote", our team under performed.

imo, The AA community stands with the voices of the past and are satisfied with incremental progress on jobs issues. Everyone has a right to vote as they see fit. I know we will come together in the general.
