Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumHillary is going to lose to Rump.
Listening to WMNF and reading other news sites I believe this is what is going to happen.
Enough anti establishment Dems will not vote for Hillary and either stay home or vote third party or vote for Rump that Hillary has no chance of winning the GE.
Enough anti establishment Reps will vote for Rump that Cruiz and Rubio will not win the primary but in the GE if Hillary wins the primary Reps will come out in massive droves and vote for Rump.
If it's Rump vs Bernie in the GE many enough anti establishment Reps will vote for Bernie that he will win.
This is what I am hearing all over and I believe it.

(9,933 posts)Hear that too often as well. Mostly from co workers who are younger gen x and millennials. But from some in their early fifties too. My supervisor, a millennial, isn't even registered to vote. He says no one represents him so why bother? It's worrisome given how few democrats have been turning out to vote in the primaries so far compared to republicans. Trump would be a nightmare.

(75,480 posts)Democratic Party activities so I talk to a lot of other Demcrats and what they are saying to me is the same thing as you are pointing out in your OP. As far as I'm concerned everyone who votes for Hillary in he primary is casting a vote for President Trump.

(1,005 posts)The news this morning sounds like the Repubs may dust on Mitt and prop him up again. But I've been wrong before.

(12,471 posts)I heard they are all calling him, "Mittens" now. Perhaps they will change his name on the ballot to Mittens as well. It has a homey sound to it.

(12,618 posts)Just about every poll for months now has Hillary beating Trump. The electoral college map also clearly favors the Dems this time around. I will grant you that Sanders is the better candidate, both policy wise and polling wise. But a Trump nomination does not equal a Trump presidency. You underestimate just how disliked Trump is by many crucial voting blocs.
But hey, just ignore all the polls and electoral projections and go with your gut feeling. I'm sure it's a much better way of predicting the future.

It's something he used to hear when he was a little boy or something.
How hilarious!

And if that happens--well at least I'll know there was nothing I could do about it, but I tried.

(19,841 posts)and sane people would go Bernie.
I don't count Bernie out at all at this point, am pulling very hard for him. But the forces against him are strong and they have anointed Hillary. Even though some rich Repuglicons might go for Clinton, the tRump thing would be hard to beat. He has "momentum!"
I say pResident tRump IS a possibility. Idiocracy will be realized.
Bernie is the only hope. But they will do everything to stop him.

Especially since Trump is to the left of her on foreign policy, trade deals.
How much is that going to suck during the debates when we agree with that creep more than our own candidate?

(51,907 posts)He could turn enough Republican women off to sink his campaign. However, he'll probably run to her left on TPP and Iraq, which is going to be a real problem.
