Is your media source liberal or conservative?

I've been hearing the New York Times referred to as "The moony times" a fair bit... and have had heard The Washington Post refered to as the "Wa Ho Post" (NOT my choice of wording!). it prompted me to wonder... what's an acceptable news source? The times and the Post are both listed as liberal sources.

If they're not acceptable, then what might be?

I ran across some interesting graphs on the subject...citing trustworthiness:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2014/10/21/the-gop-hates-the-lamestream-media-even-more-than-you-think/

Interestingly, both the Times and the Post enjoy a decent level of trust... and, as you would expect, fox and it's sundry conservative allies tend to have heavy distrust.

So, instead of hunting around on the internet for various graphs and articles, I thought it'd be interesting to ask my fellow DUers... What news sources you to trust most, and least? And most importantly, why?

I don't trust corporate-owned media, and I think the continued consolidation in media by buy-outs, acquisitions, and mergers is very disconcerting. I listen to/watch many sources, but I don't really have much trust for most of them.

I read and view a variety of sources.

I do read things on WaPo, WSJ and NYT but I always check other sources to compare against their stories because they are all status quo papers. I will also look at local newspapers to get the local scoop on a national story. I like the Guardian, Democracy NOW, The Intercept, Al-Jazeera and I will view some of the stories posted on HuffPo for some opinion pieces.

I also read a variety of sources linked to on Twitter where they are reporting on a story of interest to me. And I check in at Shadowproof.

All my trust goes to independent sources. I'd rate Amy Goodman from Democracy Now as the most reliable and Fox and conservative radio/sites as the least reliable.

I like Free Speech TV, though I don't watch it as much as I'd like. I like The Majority Report for political analysis purposes. Thom Hartmann is good too. On election nights and sometimes debate nights, I watch TYT for live coverage.

The sites I read are too many to name. I like The Nation magazine, but it's just one of many.
