WRAL and other local coverage is only talking about Hillary's visit to a high school yesterday and Trump's "press conference."

(14,255 posts)that it was actually a parody of slanted political "reporting". Hillary had 600+ people.
It was a great reminder of why I cancelled my subscription years ago, and only see their site if it comes up in a Google search.

(19,841 posts)but didn't hear about it soon enough to organize to go. But I might as well have gone the way I'm getting nothing else done...
You?
I hope the turnout is Yuuuuuuge!

(2,978 posts)I drove my daughters to the G'boro rally in September too.
I'm not surprised it's YUUUGE. The weather is glorious. They ought to have it in the Red Hat amphitheatre. It's a stadium sized crowd.

(2,978 posts)This generation is highly motivated. Even if the DNC politburo suppresses Sanders' nomination, our movement is growing. It's really exciting.
marions ghost
(19,841 posts)Yes, it's growing. In light of the abuses that have taken place in NC politics alone--it is HIGH TIME!
But this is happening around the country. The younger generation gets it, and their parents need to dust themselves off and get out there too (and I will).
Bernie is one sharp elder. Totally worthy of this admiration and support.
I am so happy to see this.

(11,366 posts)I can upload that for you, too.
Nice to meet a "neighbor."
BTW, my son's father (my ex) lives in Raleigh. I looked for him in that crowd. He's an Arab Muslim Bernie fan.

(17,064 posts)The campaign trail must be grueling...thank goodness Bernie seems to really enjoy it. Three big rallies in Florida yesterday, totaling about 20K. Nearly 10K in Tampa alone. Huge long line. Feel the Bern!

(11,366 posts)As I said in my email to you, when my daughter and I went to Greenville, SC to see Bernie three weeks ago, I stopped at a truck stop in the sticks just before you go over the mountain and the clerks loved my Bernie shirt and buttons.
They said, "Where was Bernie speaking? I hate I missed him!"
I love how everyone just calls him "Bernie." No formal titles for him.

(2,978 posts)They all have seats.
Still, it's such a small venue. Dammit. We could have filled a stadium.

(1,587 posts)I'm not physically able to stand in line for hours, especially since it's really hot today (yay, spring!). I don't sweat, so I have to be very careful about overheating, even on cool days, even in winter. I got sick the other day at the grocery store, it was so stuffy and hot inside. Heat prostration/heat stroke does not equal fun.
Ah, well. Time to charge up the AC, I guess.
On the brighter side, my middle son and I had a good talk about Bernie versus Hillary this morning. He can't understand why anyone would vote for her. I said I can't either, if people would be honest about it. I've mentioned before that he likes Rand Paul, so this is great progress for the family.
