Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumHey guys, I know I'm not your favorite poster, but the good part of the schedule starts Tuesday
Previously (meaning since 1976 or so), a candidate who won the South like Clinton has was assured the nomination because the funding dried up for the insurgents (this also happened to my original guy, O'Malley, sad to say).
As long as Sanders has the money to run, he can still run, and he will.
The next few weeks are going to be really good for Sanders. And then New York and Connecticut will absolutely suck. But then there's still the rest of the season.
If Clinton clinches 2026 pledged delegates, I don't see that that can happen until California. (That also can't happen for Sanders until California -- call me crazy, but I love that for once our party's electoral lynchpin, California, might actually have some say in the nominee.)
If you're in for the long haul, this O'Malley refugee is too. Keep it going, guys. Sanders needs to win 57% of the delegates going forward. It's a tall order but not impossible. Keep the faith, all.

(6,719 posts)and then click on TRASH CAN and type in Hillary Forum and you will no longer receive anything from that group. I did that and it works. Also typed in Trump and that has been a blessed relief. Except it knocks out toon strips with Trump in the title from n2doc so I always check the addresses to see if there are any unchecked addresses 'cuze I does love the toons! Good luck.

(20,958 posts)and i super-appreciate the post
would be great if there were more of this. the fact is we need a democratic process that everyone believes in. if we nominated a candidate who didn't have to contend for the position, it would have hobbled us (as a progressive force) even more than the cuts and scrapes from DNC have.
maybe my lens is turned in its own direction, but what i see that really gets people pissed is the appearance that the playing field is tilted, that there's bias in the media (as with the NYTs "correction" , and that the party apparatus seems determined to sacrifice working class voters to the GOP. I'm old enough to have lived through Carter > Reagan. Lobbing off the working class is a sure-fire way to screw "the party" writ small for the next decade.
also Piet Mondrian is a god in my book.

(17,320 posts)So, if Bernie wins the primary, I'd be proud that there were enough people believing in his platform
to nominate him. If not, I'm just back to where I've been for years, almost totally cynical about American politics. But, I'm a senior citizen. It's the young Americans who are likely to suffer the most from bad political choices made by their predecessors.
