Washington Rep. Rick Larsen Angers Voters, Spurs Support For Challenger Mike LaPointe

Washington state’s District 2 overwhelmingly voted in favor of Bernie Sanders during Saturday’s caucuses. Despite this, some of the state’s pledged delegates have said they will ignore the results and vote for the candidate they’ve already chosen.

Congressman Rick Larsen, who represents the residents in Island, San Juan, King, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties is urging voters to get behind Clinton after he votes for her at the convention despite several people reminding him that caucus-goers in his district chose Bernie Sanders. The lowest percentage point Sanders won in District 2 was 67.3 percent in King County. His highest margin of victory was 80.5 percent in Whatcom County.

Larsen’s constituents were clear in their rejection of Clinton, but instead of listening and promising to take their votes into consideration at the very least, Larson posted several condescending comments.

He might end up with a job in the Clinton administration. Or a cushy position at a lobbyist group. Or both.

Corruption, it's a huge part of the problem.

We need to show them that their idea of "little to lose, but everything to gain" by supporting HRH, will be a very big mistake indeed.

about who hired him for his job. What an arrogant clown. I would encourage all Bernie supporters to read this entire piece.

I'm going to donate to his opponent and hopefully a lot of Sanders supporters will do likewise. When news gets around in Washington that the people will not tolerate this from their representatives then maybe some other super delegates won't let the title "super" go to their heads. We hired them and by god we can fire them too.

I wish someone would create a website where we could track these super delegates who are voting against their constituents wishes so that we can fund primary challengers against them or donate to their opponents campaign. If they want to back Hillary when their constituents reject her then they will have to realize that their jobs are at risk because of it. We hired them and we can fire them. When they lose their jobs tell them to go ask Hillary for one.

I'm so angry about this arrogant representative. I tweeted this thread and encouraged people to support his opponent. If you have a twitter account I hope you will do the same.

it seems we have our own little news blackout in these parts. I've never heard of Mike LaPointe until now but I'll jump on his bandwagon. Rick Larsen has done a lot of good things for our district but his support for the TPP and now this SD stance terminates my support for him.
