(81 posts)I finally realized I was being duped by the Republican Establishment. I finally realized that my liberal friends were right about some of the underlying racism and xenophobia on the right. Trump and his followers prove that daily. So I followed the advice of some good friends and listened to two talks Sanders gave. One was at the Brookings Institute and the other at a rally in Georgetown.
He lays things out so damn logically I found myself agreeing. So I listened some more and started to tap into TYT and others. They also were reasonable and logical. When we disconnect from the matrix and use our own free will we can come up with some pretty good stuff.
I have been on this journey about 2 months. I am having fun learning and thinking. I have been researching things from a fresh perspective and this is a process.
I am thankful for Sanders who got me thinking. I am thankful for Progressives who are leaders with principles. I have really enjoyed being on this forum.
So, I was on the Red side. Now I am on the Red white and blue side.

(2,872 posts)I hope you continue to learn & grow.. it's a process we all are still aspiring to achieve - the intellectual enlightenment that others work to diminish... from the corporate owned media to the slanted radio personalities.. I think most folks have an innate radar/compass for BS - it's just a matter of whether we choose to dig further for truth, welcome to DU

(9,365 posts)I like the way they're facing away from the viewer. I feel like I'm standing in the crowd behind them and witnessing the excitement and determination.
Love it!
