You think you love Bernie Sanders, now....THIS is the best yet, no one is going to take this stance
and that is exactly why this Sanderstorm is only beginning!
Many people want to know more about Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders' foreign policy agenda. Yes, they say, we like what Sanders is saying about reducing extreme inequality, about reducing the political power of the billionaire class. But what about U.S. foreign policy? Yes, they say, Bernie voted no on the Iraq war; yes, they acknowledge, Sanders supports the Iran deal. But we're spending more than half of our federal income tax dollars on the Pentagon's empire, money we should be spending on rebuilding our nation's domestic infrastructure. "A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death," Dr. King said. What's Bernie going to do about that?
I'm all for pushing Bernie to talk more about downsizing the Pentagon to be an institution focused on actually defending the United States, as opposed to running around the world overthrowing other people's governments -- a Pentagon that "goes not abroad in search of monsters to destroy," as President John Quincy Adams put it. But we should also take advantage of the new opportunity that now presents itself; it's not only with bombs that U.S. foreign policy kills and injures innocent civilians. We should recognize and publicize the fact that Bernie Sanders is the only presidential candidate who is talking about what the IMF is doing to Greece, the only presidential candidate who has a track record of opposing the IMF, the only presidential candidate who, if elected, is likely to do anything to end the economic violence of the IMF. For more of this excellent article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robert-naiman/bernie-sanders-will-end-the-imfs-economic-violence-in-greece-and-africa_b_7723284.html

79. Can't dispute but feel like this is very simplistic
Obviously Michael Rivero (producer/etc.) had a message to state about the monied caste being in control of almost all aspects of current civilization. It is a message that resonates with me and probably many/most of the readers.
I also think that this ignores plenty of other reasons for people to go to war (ethnic, religious, tribal), to lust after others land or goods. If I said that it ignores the megalomaniacs (Hitler, Stalin, Saddam, Alexander, Caesar) would I just be told that these individuals were front-men for the banksters? This is also an external interpretation rather than an in-depth analysis of cause and effect without documentation to back up the extrapolations. |

even though the elections are all rigged from here to September. Our representatives actually represent corporations. We the people tried and tried to stop the Vietnam War and finally managed to, only after some students at Kent State gave their lives. But bing-bang we go to war in Iraq like we forgot about Vietnam. So Democrats even joined the lying Bush and Cheney in order to kill innocent Iraqi's for the war profits.

There really is no equal measure to Bernie Sanders in this race, no man, no woman, no one is his equal when it comes to being the real deal. when the Sequester was implemented and that was a very small cut to annual increases. It was not just Pentagon complaining. I think it has gone away now. It will take a lot of fortitude to cut a huge part of the DOD and many federal workers are Democratic voters as proven by northern Virginia. I like it but we need to really think it out on what to cut.

The IMF is not "over there." The IMF is headquartered in Washington, physically, politically and financially. A progressive economist once reported that he was at a seminar at the IMF, where a senior IMF official was indignant that people were saying that IMF is unaccountable. The IMF official demanded to know: why do people always accuse us of being unaccountable? We never do anything without checking with the U.S. Treasury Department! Frankly there's a lot of good stuff at Huff Post. |

Like Bobby Kennedy scared. Maybe I'm paranoid but I don't believe for a minute that those greedy bastards are going to release trillions of dollars from their pockets and that is exactly what a Bernie presidency means.
We should make a Bernie security gofundme page. Or maybe some of his vet supporters who work security now can be called upon to help at his appearances. If anybody knows how to suggest that, that would be a good idea. I am 100% positive that Bernie would reject that idea. And I'm sure, in the back of his mind, he has weighed the possibilities. HRC already has secret service. Bernie should too, especially because of our white terrorists. |

33. Those are very good points and ideas. Bernie has done much for Vets on the Hill, in Vermont
and from speaking tours in S.C. and the South last year I believe. Perhaps a special post about the need for this and people's concern could be placed in the BS Group, to appeal to Vets, security and law enforcement people and others who have knowledge of campaigns. There must be people here with contacts or who are familiar with high profile campaigns that could be consulted about how to raise the issue or inquire of the appropriate officials.
It's a serious matter, esp. in these times and due to his ideas. This must have been brought up and considered, but to know that professional safety measures are in place would be reassuring to followers and the country. Out of concern and selfishness because we need him so much this absolutely must be put in place if it isn't already. I'd like to think it is. In any way I can I'll gladly help. |

About the "TRUTH" -- two excellent quotes: ”In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.“-- George Orwell "A truth's initial commotion is directly proportional to how deeply the lie was believed. It wasn't the world being round that agitated people, but that the world wasn't flat. When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic" (Dresden James, Author) |

A pilot friend of mine was flying Norm Coleman to the same destination on the same day at the same time. Her plane was less than ten miles away from Wellstone's at the time it went down. According to her there was absolutely no reason Wellstone's plane should have crashed, none, unless the pilot deliberately crashed or some outside force acted upon it. This isn't woo; it came from a very smart pilot who is no conspiracy theorist. |

I think the Sanders group should talk about a way to contact the campaign. It may sound stupid, but it's worth it to be safe. These greedy motherfuckers don't play.

"It was like the plane was swatted out of the sky." She was pretty freaked out.

and no small planes!
Anyone who talks about the IMF like that is going to make some very rich people very, very mad. I DO like that he has the courage to say OUT LOUD what everybody already knows about the IMF. |

39. You said it!
I've been thinking this for some time now. You can't go around talking about how you're gonna shake things up and pull the rugs out from various evil entities and policies without causing worry - SERIOUS worry - amongst those who profit from their skullduggery. "Accidents" CAN Happen and WILL happen if you conveniently leave the door open for them.

I love it! Deja vu fell heavy on me as I realized a whole lot of truth is
seeping out, lately- especially via Bernie. The truth rarely has safe harbor. |

30. Been watching the Greek situation closely...Yannis is calling it Terrorism..people are terrified of
starving to death...literally...It's the Troika...EU, ECB and IMF...greedy, cancerous, banksters, scum. Greece can't get out of it like the US did...print more money/bailout...they and much of Southern Europe are in the same condition. This could be a gamechanger.
Germany is the main European culprit...and that after Greece forgave them their WW2 debt. Or you could call it just corporate money...that describes it and one can see who does and does not support that...which is the logical outcome of the above...we are a bit nicer calling it either the l% of .01%. |

55. I asked someone from Greece for her take on the situation, she was too afraid to talk about it.
That tells me all I needed to know. There is real fear there, not just of the treachery of the Troika, but of the Golden Dawn too. Same poison, you are right.

78. Germany
and the EU for that matter are slaves to the US banking institutions. You can't blame people for the fear factor, sometimes it is real.
If the EU fails, Greece starts a wave of defections to include Spain, Wall Street, IMF and World Banks are in trouble. Before we take down capitalism, don't we need a viable, well construction plan for a new paradigm? I've not seen anything yet. Bitcoins is just a tax avoidance scheme, imo. |

65. Which is why, even true conservative GOP'ers of Eisenhower's ilk get it, & he is drawing from that
faction as well. He is drawing from across the spectrum, come all ye disillusioned, disenfranchised, all those who truly seek an end to this stranglehold, this is no democracy, we are not going to accept this illusion, we want the real deal. It is time.
You are either a true patriot of a democracy, OR you are a blasphemy against democracy, we've been living for a very long time with a faction that poses as democracy, but undermines it for profit. We have true democrats in office, we know them by name, we know the DINOs & we damn well know what the far right extremists have imposed with their agenda driving oligarchy. We are the USA, we demand a return to rule of law & our true democracy. United we stand. |
