🐦 Oct 17 - Bernie Sanders will visit UC Boulder campus on Monday to advocate for Amendment 69

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders will visit campus on Monday to advocate for Amendment 69, which would create a new state health-care system.

Sanders will speak about the statewide ballot initiative at an event co-sponsored by ColoradoCare and the campus student organization College Democrats. The free event is scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at Farrand Field. Gates open at 4 p.m. Tickets are not required for the first-come, first-served event. Concessions will not be available. All persons and property will be subject to search.

The public is encouraged to use public transit and other alternate modes of transportation to help alleviate traffic on and around the campus. There will be no or little available public parking on campus near the event venue.

Vehicle access to Wardenburg Drive will be limited before and during the event, and faculty, staff and students are advised to plan accordingly.

Metered parking in lots 317 and 322 will be closed and vehicle access will be limited to emergency vehicles and authorized event traffic on Wardenburg Drive and Farrand Loop with traffic attendants enforcing the closure. Lot 310 permit holders will be allowed to access Lot 310, but will need to stop at the attendant to gain access.

Permitted and university service vehicles must be moved from Lot 346 from 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16 through 9 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17. Vehicles displaying a Lot 346 permit may park in Folsom Parking Garage (Lot 391) during this lot closure.

Students who live on campus in residence halls surrounding Farrand Field should be prepared for crowd noise and increased pedestrian activity on the field and in the surrounding area.

Note: The university does not endorse any candidate or ballot measure.
