More than 100 Dominican students joined Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders on stage in Angelico Concert Hall Friday night when he spoke in the Institute for Leadership Studies Fall Leadership Lecture Series.
Dominican President Mary B. Marcy and Tegist Worku, a senior Political Science major, introduced Senator Sanders.
The students, including College Debate 2016 delegates, were among a capacity crowd of close to 900 to hear the Vermont senator. The event was the final program of the 2016 ILS Fall Lecture Series.
The speaker series, a cooperative effort between Dominicans Institute for Leadership Studies and Book Passage, features some of the country's leading figures from the worlds of business, politics, entertainment, academia, and literature. The series has entertained and educated thousands of Marin County and San Francisco Bay Area residents.
